Other Partners:

The Hastings Sunrise CPC is a great place to volunteer – but there are many other worthwhile opportunities available.

The YWCA Metro Vancouver invites applications to become a youth education mentor. Through its afterschool programs you can boost self-esteem and confidence among Grade 7 girls and boys, giving them the tools to achieve a smooth transition to high school.

Mentor teams consist of two university or college students (facilitators), one high school student mentor, and one “Wisdom Champion” – a man or woman with life experience.

The programs rotate through schools in Vancouver and Surrey. Starting in mid-February, the program moves into Hasting Sunrise for a Spring session at Sir Matthew Begbie Elementary School, 1430 Lillooet St.

Programs run once a week for eight weeks. Visit the YWCA website at ywcavan.org, apply online and/or contact Sam Ramos at 604-895-5779 or [email protected].
