Over the month of August Impact training carried out its annual recruitment campaign. We visited many different schools and talked to young people on the streets regarding their future and their plans now they have left school. We had a lot of positive feedback from both young people and parents alike. We would like to pay a special thanks to Lauren Black who helped with the recruitment at Belfast Model School for Girls. Over the month of AugustImpact training carried out its

annual recruitment campaign.

We visited many different

schools and talked to young

On Wednesday 14th August Impact Training

staff and trainees took part in the Titanic Boat

Tour. The Titanic Boat Tour consists of a tour

up and down the mouth of the River Lagan.

The tour provides in depth information on the

Titanic, Harland and Wolff and the

surrounding area. Whist soaking up the

information on one of the most famous ships

in the world, one particular trainee even

found the time venture into her new career,

captain of the boat.

Baroness May Blood has

recently retired from the

Management Committee of

Impact Training Ltd, having

served as its Chairperson for

the past 15 years.

 At an event in her honour

Baroness Blood said “Over

the years Impact Training has

delivered training for the

people of the Greater Shankill

and beyond, and has

achieved excellent results.

‘Impact’s experience and

expertise combined with a

close relationship with the local

community has contributed

hugely to its success and

reputation as a quality training

provider in the area. ‘Impact’ is

a progressive and responsiveorganisation with a positive

vision for the future. It has been

a pleasure for me to work with

Impact Training and I wish the

Management Committee and

staff continuing success in their

excellent work within the

community”.

Kelly Henry, member of staff,

was invited to celebrate

Springboard Opportunities 21st

 anniversary and launch of the

Twenty One:21 publication at

Stormont. She received an

anniversary medal to

commemorate the event. Kelly

was selected to take part in a

lone parent, cross community

training course in Canada. Kelly

said, “I had the opportunity to

participate on a Springboard

programme in the summer 1998.

I travelled to Toronto where I

took part in a program to

develop cultural awareness and

work experience skills”.
