We now have less than 36 hours to make the final preparations, source ingredients and organise volunteers. The event will take place on Friday 6 th March, it will last all day (9.30- 3.30) and will involve every child in school. I have worked out that if we have 6 gas burners (camping stoves) we would be able to get the whole school involved, that's 724 pupils from age 4 – 11, which is a huge challenge. Some will only be able to chop or stir with the help of parents but it should be a great day and I know the children will love it. The Mayor of Solihull will be calling in to offer her support in the afternoon, plus I will be getting help from local sports people such as Wasps and Coventry Blaze, who are already involved with the school. GO Outdoors have agreed to supply the cookers and gas for the day, so that is one thing I don’t need to worry about. Marriott Hotel & Country Club, Forest of Arden will be offering us support in the way of a Chef and some of the ingredients. Our local Sainsbury’s will be sending along some of their staff to help out and have agreed to provide any missing ingredients for us. Howard Rose, Funding & Publicity Manager, said “I have had less than 4 weeks to arrange it all with a one week holiday in the middle so it both excites me and terrifies me in equal measures as it is such allot to organise in a relatively short time.” One of our pupils, Nicole W, from year 4 (pictured) was so excited that she could not wait till the big day and had to have a go at home. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like more information: Ends
