Dreams are important. Helping our children believe in and reach for their dreams is critical.

Dreams are powerful tools in changing lives. Having dreams and aspirations for the future and changing the lives of our children and youth and their families is what our community of volunteers and supporters come together to make happen.

Believing in a dream isn’t always easy for our kids and their families. Collectively you are helping young people believe they are important and can be successful. You are helping Moms and Dads and caregivers of all kinds, believe in their community and that their dreams for their children can be realized.

Gold Rush is like a dream. Gold Rush lets us dream. Gold Rush makes dreams come true.

This report brings to you, the answer to the question “What do they do with the Gold Rush money?”

Big Brothers Big Sisters / Boys & Girls Club is in the community, year-round providing programs, activities and meeting basic needs of children and youth. There are so many exciting investments in our community thanks to Gold Rush. One of the proudest moments was the commitment to be lead sponsor of the Breakfast Programs in 20 local schools. Every day we make sure that 4750 students have a start to their day with Breakfast.

Years and years of programs for kids, fundraising and donor engagement brought us to this day. When I am asked why Gold Rush is so successful, I say “it started over twenty years ago”. The foundation for Gold Rush was poured over many years. Boards of Directors, staff, volunteers, donors, supporters, it was their collective efforts that kept us viable and relevant all these years. Gold Rush is incredibly successful thanks to the thousands of people who believe in our work and give a little each week.

Big Brothers Big Sisters / Boys & Girls Club has gone from surviving to thriving.

To ensure all children and youth attend school well nourished, improving their ability to learn, giving them the best chance of success in life.

Our Impact:

As lead partner in the School Breakfast Program, we will provide funding for the food in the Breakfast Program at 20 schools. This fi nancial contri-bution for Food, gives the staff and volunteers an incredible boost in this program.

School Breakfast Program is open to all children and youth enrolled in one of the 20 schools sponsored by Big Brothers Big Sisters/Boys & Girls Club. The philosophy of the program is that no child/youth is turned away.
