I. The CommissionRev. 2: 18a
(Rev 2:18) And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine
brass;
Thyatira A. The Period of
time (Thyatira church period) “Odor of
affliction”
Starts around 500 A. D. (the
beginning of the Dark Ages)•The dark ages were the time that the Catholic church removed the bibles out of the Common man’s hand therefore not allowing light in to his life
Ends around the 1000 A.D. (the beginning of the Crusades)
ThyatIra
(Psa 119:130) The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
(Psa 119:105) Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light
unto my path.
(Pro 6:23) For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are
the way of life:
Thyatira B. The Perspective of the
name (Thyatira
)“Odor of affliction”
The name means “odor of affliction”During the Thyatira period, instead of Pagan Rome imprisoning, beating, stoning, burning, torturing and murdering Bible-believers because they would not embrace the Gods of Pagan Rome..Now Papal Rome is imprisoning, beating, stoning, burning, torturing and murdering Bible-believers because they will not embrace the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church!
ThyatIra
"Thus far our history of persecution has been confined principally to the pagan world. We come now to a period when persecution, under the guise of Christianity, committed more enormities than ever disgraced the annals of paganism. Disregarding the maxims and the spirit of the Gospel, the papal Church, arming herself with the power of the sword, vexed the Church of God and wasted it for several centuries, a period most appropriately termed in history, the "dark ages." The kings of the earth, gave their power to the "Beast," and submitted to be trodden on by the miserable vermin that often filled the papal chair, as in the case of Henry, emperor of Germany. The storm of papal persecution first burst upon the Waldenses in France." John Foxe’s Book of Martyrs

THE AFFLICTION OF THE PAPACY
(Rev 17:6) And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great
admiration
The name was made up of two words
“Sacrifice and Continual”
There arises a teaching that Christ didn’t finish the work of grace on the cross, but that he merely started the work of grace on the cross. And that a man must continue the work of grace through sacraments, prayers for the dead, burning of candles, etc.
ThyatIra
Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church 1405
There is no surer pledge or dearer sign of this great hope in the new heavens and new earth "in which
righteousness dwells," than the Eucharist. Every time
this mystery is celebrated, "the work of our redemption is carried on" and we "break the one bread that provides the medicine of immortality, the antidote for death, and the food that makes us live
for ever in Jesus Christ."
ThyatIra
II. The Character of the WriterRev. 2: 18b
(Rev 2:18) And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These
things saith the Son of God, who hath his
eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
Thyatira A. The proper tile for Christ“Odor of
affliction”
This is the time in which Mary
begins to be referred to as the “ The Queen of Heaven”, “The Mediatrix” "The Madonna of Rome” “Mother of God”
Therefore Christ introduces him self as the “Son of God” to rightfully prove his deity and to disassociate himself with that teaching

Thyatira B. The
Perpetual vison Christ“Odor of
affliction”
1. Speaks of Comfort
Eyes of fire…
(1Pe 3:12) For the eyes of the Lord are over the
righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:
but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
(Gen 6:8) But Noah found grace in the eyes of the
LORD.
2. Speaks of Judgment
Eyes of fire…
(Pro 15:3) The eyes of the LORD are in every place,
beholding the evil and the good.(1Co 3:13-15) Every man's work shall
be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed
by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any
man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If
any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be
saved; yet so as by fire.
3. Speaks of Revealing
Eyes of fire…
(1Co 4:5) Therefore judge nothing before
the time, until the Lord come, who both will
bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every
man have praise of God
4. Speaks of Vengeance
Eyes of fire…
(Rev 19:11-12) And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth
judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew,
but he himself
Thyatira C. The
Pulverizing feet
of Christ“Odor of affliction”
(Rev 14:9-10) And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud
voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the
wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his
indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
(Rev 19:11-15) And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth
judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that
no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in
heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the
nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress
It is during this time (2nd coming)
that 200 million United nations military men will converge on the valley of Megiddo and the blood will run throgh the rivers of Israel 3 ft deep and 200 miles long
ThyatIra
(Jer 25:30) Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto
them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his
voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his
habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the
grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth
(Isa 63:1-6) Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the
greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. Wherefore art
thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? I have
trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample
them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will
stain all my raiment. For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. And I looked, and there was
none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm
brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me. And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury,
and I will bring down their strength to the earth.
(2Th 1:7-8) And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In
flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that
obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
