Words of Vision
Photography is a way of life. A religion to some. A calling to many. Resource Magazine aspire to share the good word about the things that are, the things that change, and the things that always will be.
The photo production industry is a living, breathing entity. Constantly evolving. Moving from film to digi-tal to video. Everyone working on a photo shoot is inter-connected: we cannot live without one another. Creating a lasting image is the Holy Grail, and all work diligently to make magic happen on set. Concepts and ideas are everything and our guiding star. From photographers to art directors to the crew, we all work together and share our passion of photography.
After years of wandering studios and photo sets, Resource Magazine brings you the history, the knowl-edge and the future of the photo production industry. Read up and enjoy!

-Aurelie stops talking to a friend after that friend said she thought Helmut Newton was a misogynistic pig.

-Aurelie founds Resource Magazine with Alex and has fun discovering new talents.
-Aurelie opens her production company, ajproductionsny, and gets to work with Karl Lagerfeld, Gilles Bensimon, John Clang, Martin Schoeller, and for clients ranging from Nike to Herms.

The Land We TredThere are 22,000 copies of Resource Magazine distributed to over 300 studios, labs, equipment and prop rental locations in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Miami, as well as on newsstands nationwide and in Canada. That should be plenty of reading material for the estimated 6,000 potential readers walking through studios doors each day. Numbers indicate that within every month there are 150,000 potential read-ers from studio traffic alone, adding up to about 450,000 per quarterly issue.
Resources readers have expanded to national and international territories, just by word of mouth and the natural pass-along rate of our magazine. Keep your eye out for Resource around the country. We might just get your word out farther than you expect!

The Resource Magazine Philosophy
I am the photo productionist. I embody everyone and everything in the photo production industry. I could not function without my various body systems, including: the agency system, the photo system, the crew system, and the studio/ eq system. Each system works together and contributes to my survival and growth.
I create images for the world to see. The process starts with a spark of an idea in the agency system and goes through transformations as it travels through all my other systems to create a final product, the image. I now even have the ability to create moving images. Resource Magazine is the heart of the Photo Produc-tionist because their philosophy is what keeps me living. A photographer cannot work alone. He first needs the agency. He then needs a crew, a studio, and his equipment. Everything and everyone is connected and needs each other. The same philosophy stands for everyone else involved in photo production. Hence, the creation of the Photo Productionist.

AGENCY CREW
Studio is our home away from home. Studios house our shoots and create the environment which we work in. EQ is clearly an es-sential tool for the photo industry as these are the tools of the artist. Resource Magazine covers new studios, behind the scenes, new delopments, history and more.
Photo is the center of balance in this industry. It represents the artist, the final product and the techniques behind it all. Resource Magazine s ar-ticles feature photographers, specific techniques, galleries shows, icnic images and more.
Crew is how we get from point A to point B with everything we do. Without the crew we would have blank walls, empty sets, and no legs to run the production with. The crew is essential. Re-source Magazine cov-ers all the different members of a photo crew, how tos, events, behind the scenes, and the challenges we face day to day.
