Bible Reading PlanOverview
EXPLANATION OF READING PLAN 1.This Bible reading plan is designed to have three components each day: 1) worship,
2) word, and 3) wisdom. Worship: You will read a Psalm each day (except when you get to the behemoth Psalm 119). Psalms is the ancient song book that was intended to help God’s people worship. You will read through the Psalms twice a year. This prompts you to worship God first each day. Word: You will read straight through one book of the Bible at a time for your main reading each day so you can focus on the context. You will alternate back and forth between Old Testament and New Testament books throughout the year. You will read through a gospel every quarter. This keeps Jesus in front of you throughout the year. You will read through the Pentateuch (the first five books of the Bible) in the first quarter of the year because it is the foundation for all of the Old Testament and for the life of Jesus. Wisdom: You will read a small portion of wisdom literature each day (Proverbs, Ecclesiastes & James). This allows you to chew on a wise thought all day long.
2.This Bible reading plan appreciates the genres of the Bible (types of literature). 3.This Bible reading plan allows for some variety. It is designed on a 25 day schedule
per month. This allows you to use the extra days to do something different or to catch up if you get behind.
