•  To warn superficial faith doesn’t save •  To show works validate true salvation faith •  To rebuke believers for sinful conduct •  To call believers to repentance Bottom Line: James is about how the saved should live, NOT how we are saved. The focus is on instruction versus doctrine.

The context is about our conduct, not salvation. Faith that doesn’t produce works—(fruit) doesn’t save
