While other sources declared the earthsat on the back of an elephant orturtle, or was held up by Atlas, the

Bible alone states what we now knowto be trueHe hangs the earth on

It was believed that somebody held the earth

But the Bible has declared since from ancient timeswhen still were no satellites and telescopes, that the earth is not held from nobody

The ocean is very deep. Almost all the oceanfloor is in total darkness and the pressurethere is enormous. It would have beenimpossible for Job to have explored the

"springs of the sea." Until recently, it wasthought that oceans were fed only by riversand rain. Yet in the 1970s, with the help ofdeep diving research submarines that were

constructed to withstand 6,000 pounds persquare inch pressure, oceanographersdiscovered springs on the ocean floors!

Only in the last century have we discoveredthat there are towering mountains anddeep trenches in the depths of the sea.

P.S. So when Bible tells about a fish thatswallowed Jonah, that is all true, for the

Jonah saw the mountains in the depths ofthe sea.

Three thousand years ago the Bibledescribed the paths of the seas. In the

19th century Matthew Maury the father of

oceanography after reading Psalm 8,researched and discovered ocean currents

that follow specific paths through the seas!

Utilizing Maurys data, marine navigatorshave since reduced by many days the timerequired to traverse the seas.

It was once thought that air wasweightless. Yet 4,000 years ago Job

    declared that God established a

weight for the wind. In recent years, meteorologists have calculated thatthe average thunderstorm holds

thousands of tons of rain. To carry thisload, air must have mass.

Not only was the land to lay fallow every seventh year, but God also instructed farmers to leave the gleaningswhen reaping their fields, and not to reap the corners(sides) of their fields. This served several purposes:

    1) Vital soil minerals would be maintained. 2) Thehedge row would limit wind erosion. 3) The poor couldeat the gleanings. Today, approximately fourbillion metric tons of soil are lost from U.S. crop landseach year. Much of this soil depletion could beavoided if Gods commands were followed.

He draws up the drops of water, whichdistill as rain to the streams, theclouds pour down their moisture and

Four thousand years ago the Bible declared that

God draws up drops of water, which distill as rainfrom the mist, which the clouds drop down and pourabundantly on man (Job 36:27-28). The ancientsobserved mighty rivers flowing into the ocean, but theycould not conceive why the sea level never rose.Though they observed rainfall, they had only quainttheories as to its origin. Meteorologists now understand

that the hydrological cycle consists of evaporation, atmospheric transportation, distillation, and precipitationSee also (Ecclesiastes 1:7; Jeremiah 10:13; Amos 9:6).

Medical science has discovered that the bloodclotting chemical prothrombin peaks in a newbornon the eighth day. This is therefore the safest day

In 1935, professor H. Dam proposed the name vitamin K for

the factor in foods that helped prevent hemorrhaging in babychicks. We now know vitamin K is responsible for theproduction (by the liver) of the element known as

prothrombin. If vitamin K is deficient, there will be aprothrombin deficiency and hemorrhaging may occur. Oddly,it is only on the fifth through the seventh days of the newbornmales life that vitamin K (produced by bacteria in the

intestinal tract) is present in adequate quantities. Vitamin K,coupled with prothrombin, causes blood coagulation, whichis important in any surgical procedure. Holt and McIntosh, intheir classic work, Holt Pediatrics, observed that a newborninfant has peculiar susceptibility to bleeding between the

second and fifth days of life.... (1953, pp. 125-126).Obviously, then, if vitamin K is not produced in sufficientquantities until days five through seven, it would be wise topostpone any surgery until some time after that. But why did

    God specify day eight?

On the eighth day the amount of prothrombin present actually is

On the eighth day, the amount of prothrombin present actually iselevated above one-hundred percent of normaland is theonly day in the males life in which this will be the case under

normal conditions. If surgery is to be performed, day eight is

the perfect day to do it. Vitamin K and prothrombin levels areat their peak. The chart below, patterned after one publishedby S.I. McMillen, M.D., in his book, None of These Diseases, portrays this in graphic form.

    Dr. McMillen observed:

We should commend the many hundreds of workerswho labored at great expense over a number of

years to discover that the safest day to performcircumcision is the eighth. Yet, as we congratulatemedical science for this recent finding, we canalmost hear the leaves of the Bible rustling. They

would like to remind us that four thousand years ago, when God initiated circumcision with Abraham....

Abraham did not pick the eighth day after manycenturies of trial-and-error experiments. Neither he

nor any of his company from the ancient city of Ur inthe Chaldees ever had been circumcised. It was aday picked by the Creator of vitamin K (1984, p. 93).

The Pleiades star cluster is gavitationally

bound, while the Orion star cluster isloose and disintegrating because thegravity of the cluster is not enough tobind the group together. 4,000 yearsago God asked Job, "Can you bind thecluster of the Pleiades, or loose the beltof Orion?" Yet, it is only recently that

we realized that the Pleiades isgravitationally bound, but Orion's starsare flying apart.

Repeatedly God declares that He stretches outthe heavens. During the early 20th century, most scientists (including Einstein) believedthe universe was static. Others believed it shouldhave collapsed due to gravity. Then in 1929,

astronomer Edwin Hubble showed that distantgalaxies were receding from the earth, and thefurther away they were, the faster they were moving. This discovery revolutionized the field of

astronomy. Einstein admitted his mistake, andtoday most astronomers agree with whatthe Creator told us millennia ago

    the universe is expanding!
