Masthead at the top of the page, first thing to attract the readers attention, it is in a big font and it is a gold like colour, representing the magazine being glamorous.

Tagline, which persuades the readers to purchase the magazine. This is two short sentence, which goes straight to the point that the magazine has the things the readers want, suggesting it is a bold magazine with high expectations.

Cover stories, of what you can find inside, at the side of the page so they do not distract the cover story, but lets the readers know they can expect more.

Main cover story, what the magazine is focused on, the name of the artist stands out, in red which denotes love and danger, which suggest her personality

Central image, relating to main cover story Cover lines, on what else is expected inside

I have included the tools that are regularly used on a magazine front cover, as they are recognisable of a magazine by the reader

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Looking at the contents page of my magazine, my Artist ‘K. Wood”, reaches out to girls of a working class, that are quite wild and glamour's. You can see this as she is wearing some recent clothing lines, having a hair brush instead of a microphone in the image, shows the dream and thing girls tend to do when there younger wanting to be famous.

In the contents page there is a section for fashion, which shows the magazine involves other subjects, rather than just music, which gives the readers a range to look at. The fashion sections is represents the ‘Girly’ social group, who want to know about the latest trends.

Also the ‘PUSSYCAT DOLL’S SPECIAL’ section is aimed at girls, who have a wild side as the Pussycat doll’s have a raunchy image, a bit like my artist K.wood.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

what kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Like Q my magazine takes place in the UK, the editor Paul Rees who was also the former editor of the music magazine, which was based on rick and heavy metal music, where as q magazine is a different genre of music and is more indie related, that's why I have gone for a different genre and I have chosen R&B.

Q magazine is produced monthly, which is what I would do with Glam, but because of this it should be filled with more stories than a weekly magazine.

Looking at the 2 magazine covers, both images of female artist, posing both looking glamours, but Lilly Allen looks more seductive having no top on which may interest a lot of male readers, therefore I have made my magazine a bit more innocent as it is aimed at females.

At the start of the project I wanted to aim my magazine at females and males, but I found it was easier to relate to one sex mainly

My target audience is females in there late teens and a bit older and my audience research was taken by people 16 and above, therefore the age group my magazine is aimed at is 16-23.

On my double spread, I felt because the audience is older I can talk about intimate relationships as it is a appropriate and adds gossip which many females look for in any types of magazines.

In my audience researched, I asked about types of R&B and R&b/dance/pop genre was most preferred. So I have used this information, and based my artist K.wood on this style of music, in the interview she also mentions other pop artist, this shows the magazines takes interest in different artist, also people are influenced about others opinions on things.

The magazine has subjects like fashion, pussycat dolls, Mariah Carey and feature in the content, ‘Underneath the clothes’ with T.I which could be interoperated in a rude way, all these have a dominated fan base from females.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

The house style of my front cover and contents page was yellow, which I used the emboss effect to give a gold style look, to represent the magazine is glamorous, to attract females who have an interest in music and style, and red which usually denotes love or danger, this was so it would address an older audience, so it differs from a young pop magazine aimed at younger children

The cover story ‘K.wood Gets Down And Dirty’, also shows that it is not appropriate for a younger age group, and it is more mature but still fun, as creates youth humour.

The image of the artist on the contents page, suggest the story is fun and has humour, as I said earlier singing through a hair brush is something we usually see in the media from a girl.

Again the quote from the interview represents it is a more late teen conversation, it would also not be suited for an older ager group to read, as they may think it is immature.

The introduction to the article on the double spread mentioning ‘the geek’, these are some of the stereotypes the younger generation would recognise and would be able to relate to, the article is about her growing up, and as the age group I want to attract my audience is 16 and above they also people growing up, so they can connect to the story.

How did you attract / address your audience?

The ancillary project: This was the task we did before making the music magazine, it was to produce a front cover and plan of

a contents page for the college magazine. This was when I first started using the tools on photo shop, so doing this helped me get use to adjusting

to the tools. I got to experiment what tools were good or not good to use on a magazine, looking at the college

magazine, I’m glad I looked at more fonts on the internet to use for my masthead, as this is something that stands out so I wanted it to be different.

I added a number of images on the ancillary project, but when I came to do my final magazine, I avoided having lots of images, as I it can look to full on the page.

When I was making the College magazine, I was trying to use to many tools, which I think I improved on my final product, because I learnt how to correctly arrange tools like text and images.

I can clearly see how my final product differs from the preliminary task because of the house style I hardly used, and the placing of text on the College magazine, compared to my music magazine that I have used the same house style of font and colour on the front cover and contents page which shows consistent, which suggest an organised magazine.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
