AUGUST 2016. TURN KEYS IN ANYTIME BETWEEN NOW AND THEN TO
CLAUDIA OR DANNA. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!
(2 nd Request) MAGNOLIA DISTRICT IS ALSO ASKING FOR GOODIE BAG ITEMS YOU MAY
BE ABLE TO DONATE. WE’LL BE STUFFING ABOUT 100 BAGS WITH ASSORTED ITEMS THAT WE WILL
COLLECT BETWEEN NOW AND THE CONVENTION IN AUGUST 2016.

April 2, 2016 (Saturday)CIVITAN DISABILITY CHARITY WALK A THON will be conducted on April 2, 2016 near the Pavilion on the grounds of Biloxi Seafood Museum and the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge.
All members are encouraged to volunteer & bring tables for display items!! Liz Evans is in charge of this and needs you to let her know if you will be able to help in some way if you have not already done so.

March 17, 2016Egg Stuffing Social
Twenty people donated time, money, or candy for the Easter Egg Hunt Project. Bill Denton loaned us his church’s fellowship hall to work with the eggs
and have a light dinner.**

Egg Hunt #1Harrison County Child Development
CenterTen club members and two guests worked hiding eggs and helping to hunt for the students at the school. The Easter bunny, GHS Jr. Civitan Kenya Bass, made the rounds into all the classrooms for a visit. The hunt was a success!!

March 24, 2016 Egg Hunt #2
Long Beach Millcreek Adult Day Care for Developmentally Disabled
Approximately 11 members arrived early to prepare for the cooking of burgers and hiding of eggs for 43+ attendees and staff. Phil Vanderhagen cooked up a
storm under the tent as the weather was wet. Easter Bunny, member Donna Rumfelt, made the rounds entertaining all. Eggs were hidden inside this year.

March 26, 2016 Egg Hunt #3
City of Biloxi Special Needs Egg HuntFrank Gruich Community Center, Biloxi, MS
Due to rain, the hunt was held indoors at the Frank Gruich Community Center on Howard Ave. in Biloxi.
About 10 club members and a couple guests participated from Biloxi-Edgewater. Members assisted the city in prep of food and donations of stuffed eggs. Fun was had by all.

American Legion Girls and Boys State
This year, Biloxi-Edgewater will sponsor Christina Lee of Pass Christian High School to GIRLS STATE and LaDarius Martin of Gulfport High School to BOYS STATE. Both are members of Junior Civitan at their schools. We look forward to hearing of their experiences sometime this summer.
Special thanks to Claudia Lewis for chairing this youth project.
It’s that time again to find students that would like to apply for our C.T. Sr. and Eula Switzer Scholarship. Please contact Scholarship Chairman, Leon Bedsole if you

Keep the Woods and Bounds families in your prayers as they both have had loved ones to pass in March.

Candy and Coin Box Project Contact Darlene Yarberry (502-424-2874), chairman, to arrange for a box, candy and literature to take to businesses.
Proceeds go to the Civitan International Research Center and local developmental disability projects.
