How to Determine Binder CapacityThe most common mistake people make whendetermining binder capacity is measuring the outside spinewidth. Did you know that capacity is the measurement ofthe inside diameter of the binder ring NOT the width ofthe spine?

Below are examples of the three most popular ring stylesalong with the proper way to measure each capacity.

Round Ring Straight D-Ring Angled D-Ring

What size binder do I need? A good rule to determine the size of binder is for every100 pages – you need 1⁄2" binder capacity. You should alsoconsider how many pages you plan to add to your binderin the future!

The following chart is a guide for the ring size you shouldorder based on the number of sheets you expect thebinder to hold. These capacities are for Round Ring, D-Ring,and Angled D-Ring binders.
