2020(1)/1 Initial Remarks by the Chairman Staff Council

The Chairman welcomed all the members in the New Year 2020. He informed the house that the confirmed minutes of the last staff council held on 7th August 2019 have been circulated via email on 6th September 2019 and these are also available on the college website. All the concerned members gave their consent to have received the same. Further, he informed the house about the following in his initial remarks: 1. Ministry of Ayush has sanctioned a project worth Rs 45,000 to the Garden committee of

the college for the establishment of Herbal Garden in the college. 2. AQAR 2018-19 was uploaded on NAAC portal on 16th December 2019. 3. The Ad-hoc teachers were reappointed on 1st January 2020. 4. The evaluation of the papers of semester end examination November-December 2019 is

successfully completed in the college with the cooperation of the faculty members. 5. The civil work in the labs and corridors of the college is being carried out.

6. The Department fests shall be organized as per the academic calendar decided earlier. Only academic activities shall be organized in the department fests.

7. He congratulated the Election Committee for the successful conduct of the students’ election (DUSU and BSA) for the year 2019-20 in the college.

8. The departments/ sections having their own blogs on college website are requested to comply as per Staff Council Minutes dated 1st January 2019 and mention the required information on their blogs, if still pending as it might be difficult to continue the blogs on college website in absence of compliance. Also, all conveners, heads and TICs etc. are requested to provide information for the redesigned website.

9. Divya Kaushal 2019, a National Job Fair and Ability Expo for Divyangjan was organized by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Inclusive Divyangjan Enterpreneurs Association (IDEA) on 2nd and 3rd December 2019 in the college campus. More than 50 companies visited the college to conduct interviews and offer jobs to candidates. Around 500 candidates were selected.

10. Dr. Geeta Bhatt has proceeded on deputation, hence Dr. Avneesh Mittal was appointed as the Teacher-in-charge of the Department of Instrumentation as per the Office Order No. BCAS/17(13)/TIC/2019/1389 dated 30/10/2019.

11. Dr. Ranjeet Thakur superannuated from his dedicated service on 31st October 2019. 12. Ms. Arti Batra has proceeded on study leave. 13. Dr. Vandita Gupta and Dr Shalini Sehgal have joined back their duties in the college. 14. There is a plan to celebrate Annual day in March-April 2020. As the college will be

entering into its 25th year, there is a plan to invite Honorable President or Vice President of India as the Chief Guest.

15. Gandhian study center of the college was appreciated by Gandhi Bhawan, University of Delhi on Gandhi Jayanti for promoting Gandhian values.

2020(1)/2 Reporting of Academic workload for the even semester 2019-20

Academic committee convener briefed the house about the workload for the even semester as attached.

2020(1)/3 Updates/ Changes in Staff Council committees

1. Dr. Purnima Anand will be the Convener and Dr. Ruchi G Marwah will be the Co-Convener of the Annual Report.

2. Following changes are there in the Library Committee:

a. Dr. Anil K. Bali will be the convener.

b. Dr. Avneesh Mittal will be the member in place of Dr. Geeta Bhatt.

c. Dr. Manu Kataria will be the member in place of Ms. Arti Batra.

3. Dr. Avneesh Mittal will be the Co-convener of the Time Table Committee in place of Ms. Arti Batra.

4. Dr. Jayant Sharma is a member of the Alumni Committee in place of Dr. Sangeeta Srivastava. She is also not a member of the Website & Internet Committee.

5. Dr. Ratyakshi will be a member in the Dance Club.
