The passion and emotion racing through our minds today is unlike any we’ve ever felt. It feels like a culmination of everything we are, everything we’ve ever known and experienced. We’re ready to share the world with each other. We reflect on what brought us here. We wonder how it was all possible. We feel vulnerable and gracious all in one breath. Yet in the next, we feel safe and self-assured.

This is our wedding day, and it’s about to be the most amazing day of our lives.

Fourteen months ago, we didn’t know what we would do. Our enthusiasm for being engaged was matched only by the sense of overwhelming anxiety for all the work that would now need to be done. We needed a venue, an arrangement, RSVPs and invitations, menus, décor & design schemes, flowers, entertainment. Even with it all behind us, it still feels like an intimidating task load. We weren’t about to do it all on our own. Our best friends recommended we call the team at BG Events & Catering. We did some research and read some success stories. We saw some of the photographs and were almost brought to tears.

Yes, that’s what we want. We want that kind of wedding. Right there. That’s when we made the call.

During your initial consultation, we’ll discuss our background in more detail and answer any questions or inquiries you may have regarding our process. From the BG teamWe remember that initial qualification call. There was a sense of nervous excitement in their voices. You could tell how overwhelming everything seemed. But we wanted to provide some reassurance. One thing we said stands out in particular:

This is your wedding day. And if our team has anything to say about it, then it’s about to be the most amazing day of your lives.

We talked about each other’s needs and expectations (both financially and physically), including all the “must-haves” for any wedding celebration. We talked about our background and wedding planning in general. They had so many questions. They were the right questions, and that made us happy. We knew right then and there that in due time, this was going to be a wedding to remember.

We set up an in-person meeting to discuss wedding plans in further detail. The full team of Denise, Ken and Baylee were all on hand, combing over detail after detail with us and conversing over nosh and champagne. After a vibrant and friendly meeting, we all agreed on a Save the Date. You could certainly tell there was some peace of mind from that point. The couple knew that they were in great hands and were well on their way to a dream wedding.

We remember feeling that peace of mind. You know what else we remember? That final tasting. That was an authentic and moving experience. We didn’t realize food could resonate so personally like that. But here we were, trying this amazing cut of steak that was prepared in such a way that we felt like it was telling our story. It was speaking to our souls.

We were all gathered around the chef’s table, flushing out more details and collaborating on this simply astonishing wedding menu. We tried three different courses, all prepared with market fresh ingredients and all of which provoked a certain measure of pride and love from the chefs. It felt like we were watching an artist paint a fresco. It was so apparent how much the BG culinary team loves what they do. That level of engagement and care was present from start to finish.

The wedding was still several months away, but our production team was combing over every detail on a daily basis. We felt that sense of deep connection and responsibility for bringing this couple such an amazing wedding. What can I say: we identify with our work.

We arranged a visionary meeting with a walk-through of the venue. Combined with our drafted floor plan, it was our first chance to give the couple a visual representation of their wedding space and ask for their feedback. They collaborated with our operations team to go over the flow and design of the event. It’s funny because we’ve always felt that this is where our wedding planning process really exhibits its quality for precision. For all the detail that went into planning this celebration (which was certainly more than usual), neither the couple nor our team seemed stressed or phased in the slightest.

Two weeks out, we met to finalize the details and specifics. We finalized the timeline, guest count, seating arrangements and food requirements. Days later, we handed the team our DIY items like the guest book and a stack of special photos. From this point on, the BG Events team took care of everything. All we did was show up here today ready to get married.

And here we are—getting married together in the most perfect way imaginable. This venue, these flowers, the music, the food, and this person... it’s all perfect.

This is it. Our wedding day. And BG really did make it the most amazing day of our lives.
