A communion station with alcohol free wine and gluten free wafers (blue communion set) is available at the center aisle at every communion service. WORSHIP NOTES

Our Lutheran Liturgy: Today in Family Worship, our focus is on understanding our traditional Lutheran liturgy. For the next several months, during the Children’s Message, we will be going through the liturgy one section at a time to understand how it is that we worship our Lord. The pictures we are using come from the children’s book on the litur-gy titled, Sunday Morning, by Gail Ramshaw.

Elijah Rock: Elijah Rock is a famous African American spiritual that refers to the prophet Elijah ascending to heaven in a chariot of fire. The author of the spiritual yearned for the stability of standing on the "rock" when going through his time of trouble. Ultimately, our rock is Jesus Christ.

Fernando Sor: At the 10:30 service, we will be treated to two classical guitar duets, including one by Fernando Sor (1778-1839). Sor was a Spanish guitarist and composer who is generally credited with being the first to elevate the guitar to a “serious” instrument; previously it had been considered primarily an instrument for amateurs and popular music. Though he composed in other genres such as ballet and opera, he is remembered today solely for his compo-sitions for the guitar.

To participate, you choose an amount you would like to donate and in exchange you take the envelope with that number on it. Inside the envelope you will find a prayer request written by a mission trip participant, asking you to pray for something regarding our summer mission trips. Our goal is to get rid of all the envelopes by the end of May! Please stop by to find out more about our trips this summer, who will be attending, and what we will be doing!
