Dear Sisters, Open Meeting was such a wonderful plus +++ to start our events for this year! Good friends, food, and fellowship were had by all that attended this fun filled event. Elvis would be proud!! And thank you
Babes and Buddy! The cool weather is lending a hand to our next event, “Home for the Holiday Tea”. I am sure this will be a scrumptious array of delectable goodies! And we will be doing a great deed with our service project to the Fort Bend County Women’s Center. What a wonderful season! A special note of thanks to Diane Giagnacovo for answering my prayers and publishing this fine Bustle for me! I hope each of you have a wonderful holiday season. Beta hugs, Sheila

Terry Colley planned another fun social for the ATM sisters to journey to Kemah and the
Aquarium. First up was the one-of-a-kind touch tank that offers hands-on experience
with the numerous sizes of stingrays, with the largest at 125 lbs.
Grace Wallace and Terry fed silver fish to the stingrays while Carole Sandoval took
photos. This exhibit included a rainforest themed exhibit with fish, snakes, piranhas, scorpions, tarantulas, turtles and more! The experience was made more enjoyable with a
marine biologist giving us insight to all these interesting sea creatures. Terry and Carole ventured up the stairs to enjoy more unusual fish, sharks, stingrays and more - all in a
50,000 gallon tank.
Time for a great seafood lunch at the Flying Dutchman followed by shopping led by
Janann Gibbs and Joyce Chriss. Of course there was just a little visiting along the
way...just as all Sisters love to do! As far as this scribe knows, no one had to open the
survival package that Terry supplied us with at the beginning of our day.
After a car wreck Marvin and Winona are slowly mending. Since Marvin sustained
broken ribs, punctured lung, cracked vertebrae in neck and bottom teeth knocked out it will be a very long time to completely mending. However, he has amazing doctors and
Therapists alike and the spirit and ability to heal.

Welcome fall!! It's been awhile but here we are back together to enjoy the latest news and
gossip on these beautifully changing days headed into fall.
When last we visited our "med-vac" unit was in full swing...some better, some just
beginning their journey to "healthier" times:) Well, we are still a little puny, but with the support of our sisters and "Beta-Buddies" things are looking up! Please keep Toni and Lum, Leah, Rana, Shirley and Larry in your prayers. Rachel's family is also in our
thoughts at the loss of a family member.
We are saddened that Leah, one of our newest members, will be relocating to Georgetown, Texas in the next 6 months to live in Sun City.
We have loved getting to know her and Jim, and they will certainly be missed. They have sold their Pecan Grove home, and will move
when Jim finishes his job at Flour. She is such a good sister that our last meeting was
held at her house "amongst" the boxes. With the homemade "Frito Pies"... who could ask for
more!!
On a happier note, Gary Simpson celebrated
his October birthday in a festive way!! On Wednesday, he told Sandra he would like to
have a party, SO THEY DID!:). Gary and San-dra celebrated with a house full of good food and better wine. It was a lot of fun along
with Gary's favorite "German Chocolate Cake...Nothing like a spur of the moment idea.
Shirley has returned to the PN social scene in a big way...November happenings include a "tasting" at the Ft. Bend Brewery with dinner at Willie's Icehouse:). BTW....Everything's
Coming UP Roses" in her health future!!! Her family just celebrated her niece's
wedding... bet "The Hostess With the Mostess" was involved along the way!
Other members are staying equally busy, working on committees for the Ball, Founder's Day, and The Holiday Tea. "Sister Supreme" Duang is opening her beautiful home for the
site of The Holiday Tea!!! And speaking of events, the Open Meeting was sooooooo neat!! Saw cute dress up, ate glorious food, and visited with folks from other chapters. Congrat-
ulations to this talented committee for making it work!! Thanks to Linda for riding with me before they leave on their trip to faraway places, including France. She should call our
"Prez"...she and Gary really know their way around.
Thanksgiving is fast approaching, we have been so blessed to have each other...enjoy the
fall weather and come back and visit next month…

Fall is in the air – Finally! Our “dear” sister Miriam Langford challenged all of her sisters
to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. On September 2nd we responded. In addition to the
“icy” undertaking XAZ also made a
donation to the ALS fund.
ALS, aka Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a progressive neuro-degenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain
and the spinal cord. When the motor neurons die the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle move-
ment is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed.

$21.7 Million from Ice Bucket Challenge Donations to Expedite Search for Treatments and a Cure for ALS

Our first meeting was on the 9th at the home of our President, Diana Rayle. We celebrated our 14th chapter
birthday – we are teenagers! We cele-brated with a trio of salads – chicken,
coleslaw and
potato and topped our
meal off with a decadent lemon Bundt
cake with cream cheese frosting. Our
Secret Sister gifts were themed – the Tree of Life and included butterflies, bird-
houses, pumpkins, peacocks and more!
Our 2nd meeting was held on the 23rd at the home of Jeanne
Murray – feisty fiesta merriment abounded! Margaritas, Taco Salad and Tres Leches Cake! The ladies of XAZ are gifted host-
esses new and unique adventures are always on the menu.
Jeanne M shared her family heritage and regaled us with
stories from her childhood.

and spending time with the kiddos, enjoying the weather and fun outdoor activities. We

Then in July Kimberly hosted a Pool Party with some sweet treats and Kelly’s homemade
Sangria. Fun times! Every year the sisters of BLP plan a weekend getaway with the girls and this year we went to La Torette Resort & Spa in Conroe, Texas. It was a gorgeous re-
sort and we were all able to share a room. We relaxed by the pool, ate some really great food and played games at night. Everyone had such a great time and there was lots of sis-
terly bonding.
This year’s BSP Theme is really fun for our group and our August Beginning Day was a
hit. Lesley passed out our Yearbooks which were beautifully made and everyone made their
own Family Tree while we talked and caught up from the summer. Everyone is very excited for
this upcoming Sorority Year!
Amy Okie and her family have been traveling
non-stop this summer. Recently they went to Fredericksburg for Oktoberfest and they had a
great time. They are looking forward to all of the upcoming fun Halloween activities. Andrea started a new job this summer and is working part time while Banker is at school. Bank-
er loves his school. She has also been traveling a lot this summer visiting family and friends. The most memorable trip was Disney World. Banker loved seeing all the charac-
ters and his parents also couldn’t stop grinning from ear to
ear the whole time they were there!
Jenny has been busy over the summer with her two little boys Mathew and Garrett. She has been spending a lot of
time with her Papa Bill in Lake Jackson as his health is not the best. She has been keeping busy with park and pool vis-
its over the summer. Jenny and Brad got to have a fun date night and had great seats to go see a Texans game. Fun night and a WIN! J Kelly also had a busy summer traveling
to visit family and friends. Jake started school in September and loves it. He gets so excited the mornings that he gets to
go to school. Such a blessing! She has also been keeping very busy with her essential oils business and loves teaching classes. Kelly and family are traveling to Portland for
Thanksgiving this year and very excited to spend some time
with her family.

Kimberly‘s son, Preston, started crawling and is
cruising everywhere and is learning new words eve-
ry day. Cleo is loving her second year at St. Peter’s
preschool and enjoying her ballet/tap class. They
are so excited for the cooler weather and get to the
playground as much as they can. They had a won-
derful trip to Virginia in August to celebrate Pres-
ton’s 1st birthday and baptism with extended fami-
ly. Lesley has been a busy lady with her new job
this past summer. Her most memorable trip was
when she went to Napa Valley. They spent the
week touring wineries and checking out San Francisco. Edward and Lesley celebrated their 10
anniversary and we want to wish them both well! The kids are really enjoying school this year
and have made lots of new friends!
Diane has been keeping busy on her new real es-
tate business. She is doing really well and has
already sold a few homes with more currently
listed. She is also trying to keep up with a very
quick moving 1 year old. Daniel is getting into
everything! Emily’s family had a really great sum-
mer and kicked off the fall by celebrating Nathan’s
1st birthday in September. He had a puppy
themed party at the park and it was really cute
watching him eat cake for the first time! Emily
and Nathan have
been filling their days at the local library for storytime, mommy
and toddler yoga and walking the trails at the local park. Emily
and John took Nathan to his first pumpkin patch this year and
he had a really great time checking out all the pumpkins and a
hayride with his dad. Emily is now teaching 3 yoga classes and
the prenatal class is her favorite.
Now to save the best for last…..Tricia has been busy with…..HER
BRAND NEW BABY BOY IAN! Yes! Ian Anthony Richardel was
born on October 28th and was 7lbs 5oz. They are both doing
very well and adjusting to life at home with two kids. Tricia has
also been volunteering as a seamstress for NICU Helping Hands
creating Angel gowns from donated wedding dresses.
Hope everyone has a wonderful fall and are looking forward to the
holiday season!
