Now, it could be said that many parents face the month of July with dread. Several of us have thought in the past that the only way to cope with the inevitable screams of “I’m bored!” once the school holidays start is to stock up on earplugs and stick on the box set of Grange hill, in a desperate bid to trick the kids into thinking they’re still at school. We should have known that the pupils’ hair would give it away – apparently no-one has hair like that anymore...

however, this year it’s all different – there’s so much going on that those fateful words won’t have the

time to leave their lips – or yours. From the fantastic Scarecrow Festival at Muston to the wonderful Antique Retro and Collectors Fair and the long-awaited opening of York Maze, there’s a wonderful range of local events to keep the young’uns and grown-ups entertained. head to our events section to find out more!
