DAY 5 Continue our crossing of the Great American Prairie we make a stop in Mitchel to see the unique Corn Palace. With ever-changing

mural displays made from the

fruits of the harvest on the building’s exterior, this building is truly an American icon. Our next encounter is the Badlands National Park featuring sharply eroded buttes, pinnacles, and spires b l e n d e d w i t h t h e l a r g e s t , protected mixed grass prairie in

the United States. Covering over 64,000 acres, the park includes sites of the 1890s Ghost Dances, over 11,000 years of human history, and the world's richest Oligocene epoch fossil beds. A visit to the area is not complete without a stop at Wall Drug Store, a family-owned and operated business which offers eccentric hospitality! Continue to Rapid City, SD, where we will check into our hotel and overnight for the next two nights. B

DAY 6 This morning we shall visit Mount Rushmore National Memorial, a 60-foot granite carved edifice of four American Presidents embodying 120 years of U.S. history, which stands as a symbol of democracy worldwide. Then we will catch a glimpse of the Crazy Horse Memorial as we travel to Custer State Park. Here we follow the wildlife route which twists and turns its way through the prairie and ponderosa pine-studded hills that harbor many of the park's wildlife species. From the safety of your coach window come face to face with the number one inhabitant of the park, 1,350 free roaming buffalo as well as white-tailed deer, mule deer, and elk and if we're lucky, big horn sheep, burrowing owls, coyotes, or even a mountain lion. In addition, look out for two of the most colorful characters along the way, prairie dogs and a band of feral burros. Overnight Rapid City. B DAY 7 Leaving Rapid City behind we travel into North Dakota to the wilds of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. This Park is less crowed than most and offers a fantastic opportunity to view wildlife amid the stunning badlands scenery. Look for bison, feral horses, prairie dogs and much more. We overnight in the historic town of Medora, ND known for its western culture and hospitality. Our hotel is the famous Rough Riders Hotel where luxury meets western charm and presidential history. Named for the volunteer cavalry unit led by America's 26th President,

Theodore Roosevelt, this property embraces all that is 1880’s Western nostalgia. This evening experience a dinner

like none other at the Pitchfolk Steak Fondue! Watch as chefs load up pitchforks with 12oz steaks and fondue them, western style! Paired with all your favorite fixin's and an unbelievable view of the Badlands. This is a perfect way to end the day. B D

Utah/Idaho border. This large scenic lake is often described as the “Caribbean of the Rockies" due to its intense turquoise blue waters and is a scenic spot to take lunch. Carrying on into Utah we arrive in Salt Lake City where a tour of the famous Mormon Tabernacle located in Temple Square is included (subject to availability). Completed in 1867, the Tabernacle was built as a place for Church members to gather and hear the words of their leaders.
