ITINERARYApril 16 – Travel Day / Sikeston, MOMeet your Moostash Joe Tour Director and Driver at one of our many convenient pick-up points this morning and head south! Our travel day takes us to Sikeston, MO and the Drury Inn & Suites where you’ll get to relax and enjoy Drury’s great “Kickback” – where complimentary food and drinks are available. (D)

April 17 – Elvis Presley Birthplace / Natchez Trace ParkwayContinue south this morning towards Tupelo, MS where we’ll visit the Elvis Presley Birthplace. You’ll get to see where it all started in Elvis’ two-room house along with his childhood church and other exhibits. We’ll also enjoy a picnic lunch on the grounds before heading over to the Natchez Trace Parkway! The Natchez Trace offers a scenic drive roughly following the “Old Natchez Trace” – a historic travel corridor used by American Indians, European settlers, slave traders, soldiers and future presidents. Enjoy the afternoon along the Parkway, making a stop in French Camp and an opportunity to try their famous “Mississippi Mud Pie” on your own. Our day ends in Vicksburg, MS with an evening meal at Cracker Barrel. (B, L, D)

April 18 – Vicksburg National Military Park / Natchez, MSA day full of exciting activities await! This morning is spent at Vicksburg National Military Park. Our knowledgeable step-on guide will take us around the park filled with historic sites, excellently preserved memorials and exhibits marking the Civil War’s Vicksburg campaign – vital to the wars victory. Then we head south to picturesque Natchez, MS located along the banks of the Mississippi. We again meet a local, step-on guide who will take us around the city including stops at a couple of Natchez’s magnificent antebellum plantation homes – Longwood and Melrose. A special evening is planned at historic Glenfield Plantation where we enjoy a tour as well as an evening meal on the grounds. (B, D)

April 19 – Oak Alley Plantation / Swamp TourThis morning, tour the most visited plantation in the deep south, the stunning Oak Alley Plantation! Complete with two rows of live oaks lining its walkway, this beautiful Greek Revival Mansion has been the set for many movies and television shows over the years. We will also enjoy a traditional Cajun lunch buffet and free time to enjoy the expansive grounds. Then, an adventure you won’t soon forget – a real life “Cajun Swamp Tour!” Just a short drive from the plantation, we discover what life is like on the swamp for animals and humans alike! You’re sure to spot plenty of wildlife on this two-hour boat tour. We continue to New Orleans and check-in to the Drury Inn & Suites for our two-night stay, just four blocks from the French Quarter. Here, you’ll have the chance to enjoy Drury’s “Kickback” and an opportunity to venture out to famed Bourbon Street tonight! (B, L, D)

April 20 – New Orleans / National WWII MuseumToday we enjoy the best of New Orleans. In the morning, our local step-on guide will take us around the city, discussing the devastation of Hurricane Katrina along with its rebuilding and prevention efforts, as well as a stop at a local cemetery to walk through these “cities of the dead.” Then, experience Cajun cooking first-hand as we enjoy lunch at the New Orleans School of Cooking – where our meal is prepared right in front of us! This afternoon also includes a visit to the National WWII Museum – New Orleans’ top-rated attraction and voted one of the top museums in the world. We’ll get to see their award-winning film with plenty of time to explore the expansive museum before heading back to the hotel. This evening, another chance for Drury’s “Kickback” and to experience the rowdiness of Bourbon Street and the French Quarter. (B, L, D)

April 21 – Tobasco Factory / Natchitoches, LAWe say goodbye to New Orleans en route to Avery Island and the Tobasco Factory where we take a self-guided tour through its many exhibits and buildings showcasing the production of the world-renowned pepper sauce. Continue north to Natchitoches, the oldest permanent settlement in Louisiana. We meet our local step-on guide who will take us on a short tour of this picturesque town along the Cane River, famous for being the setting for the film “Steel Magnolias.” After the tour you’ll have some free time in the downtown area to enjoy an evening meal. (B)

April 22 – Grand Country Jubilee / Branson, MOContinue north out of the flatland’s of Louisiana to the scenic rolling hill countryside of northern Arkansas and southern Missouri. A fun evening is planned as we enjoy an evening meal at Branson’s Grand Country Buffet and great entertainment at the Grand Country Jubilee! (B, D)

April 23 – Return HomeSpend one last day reminiscing with your newly made friends about your tour featuring the beautiful plantations, fascinating history and extraordinary wildlife of the Deep South! Say goodbye to your Moostash Joe Tour Director, Driver and fellow travelers as you arrive back at your initial pick-up point this evening. (B)
