Snap Fitness is a Chanhassen, Minnesota-based chain of fitness clubs that particularly appeals to franchise investors looking for a way to enter the fitness industry smoothly and efficiently. “Snap Fitness offers a fully-integrated process that makes a prospect’s entry into our business as seamless as possible,” says Chief Marketing Officer Steele Smiley. “Throughout the entire process, the turnkey systems and world-class support we have in place allow prospects to confidently become owners,” Smiley adds. “We also have a special in-house financing program that helps operators get the most from their investment.” Snap Fitness’s skill at providing its target market of franchisees what they are looking for is evidenced by its size and rapid growth. With nearly 1,500 units up and running, company officials anticipate adding a new location approximately every day for the next year. Most of Snap Fitness’s growth to date has occurred in the U.S. However, in addition to its domestic system, the company has clubs open or in development in 18 countries. “We have aggressive international development plans in place that will help us grow our global footprint,” Smiley says. SealMaster is a best-in-class for franchisees seeking high income potential. “Our highest single-unit franchise reported gross revenue of $14 million in the fiscal year ending September 30, 2015,” says Rick Simon, director of franchise operations for the Sandusky, Ohio, franchise. SealMaster franchisees supply pavement maintenance materials, equipment, tools, and other supplies with retail presence to sealcoating contractors, municipalities, property managers, and others charged with pavement maintenance. Simon anticipates 40 to 45 U.S. territories will be operational within the next 12 months, with a handful of territories mostly in the inland Northwest states still available for domestic franchisees. The following franchises are all contenders for best of breed when it comes to matching needs of their franchisees.

Mosquito Squad’s position in the mosquito-control industry is clear, says Tricia Charles, franchise recruiting consultant for the Richmond, Virginia-based company. “We’re the category founder,” she says. “We created the industry, and we’re the leader.”

Mosquito Squad franchisees provide outdoor pest control services to residential and commercial customers. Franchisees benefit from high customer retention rates and a robust recurring revenue stream. “We’re a home-based business and a lifestyle business,” Charles adds.

With 188 locations operational, mostly east of the Mississippi, Charles anticipates being at 200 to 225 by the end of 2016. “We’re moving into those Midwestern markets,” she says. “We still have a lot of territory.”

Cruise Planners franchisees can use mobile travel booking and business management technology developed by the Coral Springs, Florida, company to escape the 9-to-5 office world and build a business in the travel industry. “They can literally book a cruise for a client on a smart phone while they are at one of their kid’s baseball games,” says CEO Michelle Fee. The company has more than 1,500 franchisees in 48 states and adds approximately 200 annually.

Murphy Business & Financial Corporation puts franchisees in business as brokers specializing in buying and selling other businesses. With about 300 offices in the U.S. and Canada, Sandee Devine, vice president of franchise development for the Clearwater, Florida, franchiser, says they anticipate adding 28 to 30 more in 2016.

Devine says their best-in-class status encourages people who want to buy or sell businesses to come to Murphy Business. “They know we have the highest closing ratio in the industry,” she says, “which means they will get their business sold for the best possible return.”
