Client: Best for DMV program - a campaign-style program that aims to increase the number of businesses in the DMV area that incorporate social and environmental impact.

Problem: Lack of awareness of the program and lack of marketing capacity

Objective: Encourage higher levels of involvement from local businesses in:

● Committing to take action● Participating in workshops and other

BDMV events● Using the SDG Action Manager tool from

BDMV and B Lab Assessment● Attainment of B-Corp Certification

Incorporate networking events and webinarsHost virtual panel discussions where leaders of B-corp certified companies can share best practices and guidance. Consider incorporating monthly virtual lunch and learn sessions, executive leadership conferences, and community events to enable resource sharing.

Bringing in experts and peer to peer mentoring

University partnershipsLeverage partnerships with universities in the area such as UMD to work with student consultants and faculty on providing support for improvement plans identified by participating local businesses.

Leverage social media to increase visibilityUse social media to emphasize the benefits of receiving objective third party feedback, gaining industry competitive edge, and attracting top talent. Post frequently on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin.

Bring in environmental policy and industry experts to share resources with participating businesses through monthly speaker series events. Also establish a peer to peer mentoring system where certified B-corps can mentor new participants.
