ObjectivesAt the end of this conference, participants will be able to:• Apply best practices in diabetes prevention and discuss weight

management strategies.• Provide best practices for the management of coronary artery

disease.• Implement an evidence-based approach to shoulder pain that

accounts for both the short list of diagnoses not to miss, and the more likely chronic etiologies that are best treated with focused physical therapy and efficient follow-up.

• Discuss barriers related to immunization refusal and apply strategies to minimize those barriers.

• Identify the difference between patient decision aids and true shared decision making tools. Participants will understand how to use point of care shared decision making tools during an office visit to perform effective and efficient shared decision making around lung and breast cancer screening.

• Use best practice counseling around the use of common OTC medications in pregnancy and lactation. Apply evidence-based principles to prescribing during pregnancy and lactation, including medications for depression and anxiety, nausea, and diabetes, as well as antibiotics.

• Apply evidence-based recommendations for the evaluation and management of ASCVD.

• Evaluate and manage alcohol and drug detox.• Diagnose, evaluate, and discuss treatment options for

cardiomyopathies.• Assess the cardiovascular risk of patients with dyslipidemia

and apply treatment and lifestyle strategies to stabilize blood cholesterol and weight.

• Use appropriate rehabilitation and thoughtful counseling to eliminate the element of “crisis” from most back pain visits.

• Provide evidence-based counseling and prescriptions for symptoms of menopause, including HRT. Identify normal and concerning vulvar and perineal skin changes in menopause; apply evidence-based recommendations for their management. Understand issues surrounding recurrent UTI in post-menopausal women.

• Identify clinical presentations and perform initial workup and management of complex problems and complications of diabetes.

• Apply best practices for managing common and challenging pediatric clinical presentations.

• Describe the therapeutic uses and clinical indications for cannabis in a clinical setting.

Reservation Information1. Room rate: The resort is offering run of the ocean rooms at $245 per

night. These rooms are limited and reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Rates are based on single or double occupancy, and donot include 13.416% tax or the daily resort charge plus tax of 4.166%per day. Additional adults (18 or older) in a room are charged $80 pernight plus tax.

2. Resort fee: The $25 per day resort fee is waived April 21–28, 2018; otherwise, the resort charge will be $10.00plus tax per day, per room.

4.
