Citroën Berlingo demonstrates that it is possible for a commercial vehicle to combine impressive functional qualities (load volume, payload, robust strength and economy) with attractive styling, comfort and acoustics similar to that of a passenger car. Behind the wheel, the quality of the materials and dashboard design are immediately noticeable, and are indeed worthy of a family saloon. This quality and design are intended to create the most user-friendly and comfortable work space possible.The trip computer provides important information at the touch of a button such as average fuel consumption and distance travelled. Bluetooth with USB connectivity is available as an
option, allowing the driver to make and receive calls without losing their concentration or taking their eyes off the road. Similarly, the CD Radio/MP3 system is equipped with remote audio controls mounted on the steering wheel. Air conditioning, cruise control and electric windows are also standard equipment across the range.The dashboard features a dash-mounted gearlever, and the height and reach adjustable steering wheel is surrounded by clear logical instruments and numerous storage compartments.The Citroën Berlingo delivers adequate space for long hours spent on the road with a vast array of storage solutions. Everything needed is close at hand and easily stored away when required.
Twin gloveboxes, one located on the passenger side and a second one located on top of the dashboard behind the steering on the driver’s side, make it easy to store log-books, mobile phones and other frequently used items.A central storage box offers additional storage with a useful sliding cover, keeping items out of view.The overhead storage tray, which runs the full width of the cabin and the storage tray under the driver’s seat keeps items out of sight yet within easy reach.

The spacious load area is designed to be as accessible and adaptable as possible to maximise the driver’s time and ensure simplicity. Twin rear doors can be matched to optional sliding side doors for easy access from every angle. As standard, the Citroën Berlingo has glazed twin-hinged rear doors with a heated rear window and wiper on the left door.
Thanks to the optional Extenso® dual passenger seat, for the first time ever, the Citroën Berlingo can offer an increased seating capacity of up to 3 people.Carrying tall or fragile items in the front of the cabin is easy, even while still having a useful working table.Folding the central seat down will also reveal a useful writing desk, while using the Cinema function of the outer seat
to raise the seat back for additional storage of taller items.The outside passenger seat can also be folded down and lowered in the floor of the cabin. This allows for a 3 metre long load area on the standard body length models, or 3.25 metres on the long body length models, running from the rear door right up to the dashboard. This is perfect for transporting longer items.

In terms of useful load capacity and load volume, the Citroën Berlingo is one of the best in its class. A choice of 2 load lengths (standard and long) allow for an increased payload capacity of up to 850kg and load volumes of between 3.3m³ and 3.7m³. The Citroën Berlingo can now accommodate 2 Euro pallets with ease.
The rear barn doors are an asymmetric design, with 60/40 split. Each door can be opened to almost 180° (177º) using a simple lever. This allows for the van to be reversed closer to a loading bay.Longer items can also be transported easily with one of the rear doors left open. The left hand door can be locked in position
singularly leaving the licence plate on show, while the right door can remain open (where permitted).For complete load security while driving, the load area is equipped with 6 load tie-down points.

An immensely strong body shell with reinforced passenger cell and a fuel cut-off on impact device, makes the Citroën Berlingo a robust performer. Active safety features such as ABS, optional ESP and rear park assist sensors help to avoid accidents, while the passive safety features such as airbags, retractable steering column and anti-submarining seats, work to protect the occupants in the case of an unavoidable collision.
An adaptive driver’s airbag is standard across the range, and an optional passenger airbag (double width to accommodate the optional Extenso® seat) and optional side airbags are also available.ABS is standard across the Citroën Berlingo range and is matched to EBA emergency brake assist to reduce stopping distance under heavy braking. EBD automatically distributes braking pressure across all four wheels. Optional ESP is also available to aid stability in all driving circumstances.
Optional rear park assist sensors also alert the driver to hidden obstacles making parking a breeze.
