Bequia SuNSHiNe SCHooL auCTioN 2012 a HuGe SuCCeSS!a packed crowd came to support the Bequia Sunshine School for
Children with Special needs at the Gingerbread last Sunday for another very successful fund-raising event. a big thank you to all the friends of the school who either donated items to be sold, or whose spirited bidding led to some amazing prices!
The grand total raised for the day, including bar sales, food sales, school-made crafts, donations and the auction itself came to over $21,000 which will go a long way towards the eC$75,000 that the school requires each year to function.
The Board of the Sunshine School for Children with Special Needs would like to extend their thanks to: Frangipani Hotel, L’auberge des Grenadines, Sailors’ Café, Coco’s Place, Jack’s Bar, Papa’s restaurant, Hairoun Brewery, Mountain Top Water, Knight’s Trading, Dive Bequia, Caribbean Woods, roland Gourmet, de reef, de Bistro and Mac’s Pizzeria for their generosity in providing drinks or food for the bar.
Thanks also to Bequia Beach Hotel, for their donation of Dinner, Bed and Breakfast; and to those restaurants who donated lunches or dinners: De reef, Mango’s, Maria’s French Terrace, Tantie Pearl’s, Nando’s, Dawn’s Creole, Jack & renee for dinner at Maria’s French Terrace, Pizza Hut for a pizza voucher; to S/Y Mirounga for
the trip to isle de quatre, to The Friendship rose for their Day Trip for Two, and to Patricia for Yoga lessons, Monique for a massage, Lydia for a facial massage, Fabio Gasparotto for tennis lessons; to indra for a selection of her home-baked breads and finally to Doris who donated the magnificent gourmet food basket as the raffle prize, which brought in so much money!
Special thank you must go also to Sabrina Mitchell and Pat Mitchell, for allowing us the use of the Gingerbread restaurant, the staff at Gingerbread for all their help on the day, to elfic for the use of his Pa system.
and of course a big, big thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time and effort so willingly over many weeks, to ensure the smooth running of the event.
We hope to continue the tradition of holding an auction each year, and look forward to seeing you all in 2013!
Meanwhile, make a note in your diary – the Annual Junble Sale and Book Sale will be held this year on Saturday March 31st, from 9am, under the almond Tree – don’t miss it!
