horrible.(line 80-81)”

Grendel kills, because

he hates others

happines.

Beowulf is a great king.“That my duty

was to go to the Danes’ Great King

to as “Great King”

Beowulf’s last battle

Beowulf would rip

his limbs off.

“Like Grendel,

gripped in my

hands and torn

Limb from limb.

Beowulf tears th

e

dragon appart.

Beowulf will not be afraid.“I meant to stand,

not run from his shooting Flamers,

stand till fate decides. Line (620-

everything of fate.

The Death of Beowulf

Beowulf is tough.

“Beowulf spoke, in spite

of the swollen, livid

wound. (lines736-737)

He didn’t silence, just

because he was hurt.

Beowulf would love

to leave his son his

armor. “Id leave my armor

to my son, now if

God had given me an

heir. (lines 742-743)

Beowulf has no son,

therefore he cant

leave his armor to

anyone. He is content with dying at this point in

time.“I can leave this life happy; I can die,

here” (lines 751-752)He is happy, because

he killed many evil things.

Beowulf told Wextons

son about treasure.

“A brave young warrior

saw piles of gleaminig

gold.” (line 769)

He gave him the

treasure because he

was dying.

Mourning Beowulf

The Geats build a

tower for Beowulf.

“Then the Geats built

the tower, as Beowulf

had asked.” (lines 871-

872)They do this out of

respect.

His ashes were stored

away.“Sealed his ashes in

walls as straight and

high as wise and

willing hands could

raise them.” (lines

875-877)They did this to honor

him

They ride horses around the tower.

“Rode their horses around the tower

telling their sorrow.” (lines 885-886)

They do this to bring back good memories.

There would never

be a better king.

“Cring that no better

kind had ever lived”

(lines 895-896)

They say this,

because he was the

best king they’ve

ever had.
