Beowulf By: Trevor and Taylor

Hrothgar is a proud king who builds a mead hall called Heorot.

The warriors gather together in Heorot, drinking and receiving gifts.

The noise from Heorot angers the troll Grendel.

They suffer many years from Grendel until a Geatish warrior named Beowulf hears of it and sails to Denmark to defeat Grendel.

Knowing Beowulf’s father, Hrothgar accepts Beowulf’s offer and celebrates with a feast.

Unferth disrespects Beowulf and does not believe a word he says.

Beowulf talks about his accomplishments and his confidence encourages the Danish warriors and continues with a feast.

Grendel arrives and Beowulf fights him unarmed and shows that he is stronger than him which brings fear to Grendel.

Grendel tries to escape but Beowulf rips his arm off causing Grendel to retreat to the swamp to die.

Grendel’s arm is then place in the mead hall to show Beowulf’s victory.

Beowulf is honored with gifts from Hrothgar and they celebrate throughout the night.

Grendel’s mother, who lives in the swamp, travels to avenge her son’s death.

She murders Aeschere, the kings best friend, and then retreats back to the swamp.

Beowulf and his group travel to the swamp to seek vengeance on Grendel’s mother.

Beowulf travels to Grendel’s mothers under water lair to fight Grendel’s mother.

He uses a sword made for a giant to kill her.

Beowulf finds Grendel’s corpse and cuts off his head to bring back to Hrothgar as a trophy.

The land is finally free of monsters thanks to Beowulf.

Beowulf then says goodbye to Hrothgar before he leaves for Geatland.

Back in Geatland Beowulf is welcomed back by King Hygelac and Queen Hygd, and Beowulf tells them about his adventure.

Eventually King Hygelac dies in battle against the Shylfings and later his son dies.

Beowulf takes the throne and brings prosperity to the kingdom for fifty years.

A thief then awakens a dragon and the dragon becomes angered.

The dragon then proceeds to attack the Geats.

Knowing he is going to die, Beowulf sets out with Wiglaf to defeat the dragon.

THEY KILL THE DRAGON!!!!!!!

However, Beowulf was bitten in the neck and is killed by venom from the dragon.

The Geats fear that their enemies will attack now that Beowulf is dead, and at Beowulf’s request they burn Beowulf’s body on a boat. Beowulf is later buried with a massive treasure in a barrow overlooking the sea.
