This test mode allows manual adjustment of the bass and treble levels of thespeakers, and i t is avai lable in stand-by only.

- Connect the product to a mains outlet.- Within 30 secs., press: o 2650. The display reads: 8888 when the product is

in test mode.- Press 13.

The present adjustment is shown in the display:

The bass and treble levels of the speakers are stored electronically in lC4(EEPROM) on PCB 3. When replacing PCB 3 or 31C4, the or ig inal bass andtreble level values have to be stored again:

- lf the old values are accessible, enter them in TEST MODE 13. Press STOREwhen all four speaker units have the desired coding.

- lf the old values are not accessible, see: Replacement of PCB 2 Amplif ier.

A measured value in dB is printed on the back of the new speaker unit. Thisvalue is used for adjust ing the sound level , which is,done in TEST MODE 13:

- Make a note of the value printed on the back of the new speaker unit,and replace the old unit with the new one.

- Carry out the procedure descr ibed under TEST MODE 13.- The rated value printed on the back of the speaker unit may be either

positive or negative:Pos.: lf the rated value printed on the back of the speaker unit is

positive, dampen the unit in question by X number of steps. lfnecessary, select speaker by means of STEP> (the active speakerflashes), and then enter a new digit (see table).

The need for subsequent lubr icat ion is minimal. In connect ion wi th majorchecks and replacement of mechanical parts it may be necessary to apply alitt le lubricant (see exploded view, section 4).

- Loosen the two transport screws A for CD.

The laser, the laser supply in 81c7800 and the monitor diode form a feed-back system. A defect in the laser supply may result in destruction of thelaser.

As it is impossible to check and repair a feed-back if one part of the system ismissing, the laser supply can be checked by means of the below circuit.

The green LED replaces the laser. The voltage across the l8ohm resistor is thefeed-back voltage for the monitor. The 33ohm resistor and the switch makeit possible to change the power consumption from the laser supply.

Rear panel- Remove the two covers (or

handle) on the rear panel (twoscrews).

- Remove 16 screws marked Abehind the front fabric frames.The screw A behind the gearboxbecomes visible when the gear ofthe gearbox is turnedanticlockwise.

- Remove plug 2P30, coordinate 1C.- Pul l the rear panel straight back

when the foot has been removed(remount chassis on foot).

Riickwandteil- Die beiden Deckel (oder den

Handgriff) am Ruckwandteil (2Schrauben) entfernen.

- Hinter den Frontstoffrahmen 16Schrauben (Markierung A)entfernen.Die Schraube A hinter demGetriebe kommt zum Vorschein,wenn das Zahnrad des Getr iebesgegen den Uhrzeigersinn gedrehtwird.

- Steckverbindung 2P30,Koordinate 1 C, abmont ieren.

- Ruckwandteil nach Entfernen desFuBes gerade nach hinten ziehen(Chassis wieder auf FuBmontieren).

Face arriire- Enlever les deux couvercles (ou la

poignee) de la face arridre (2 vis).- Enlever 16 vis reper6es par un A

sur la face arriere des panneauxfrontaux d6coratifs en tissu. La visA masqu6e par la pignonner ieapparait en tournant la rouedent6e dans le sens ant ihoraire.

- D6brancher la fiche 2P3O,coordonnees 1C.

- D6poser la face arridre en la tirantaprds avoir enlev6 l 'embase(remonter le ch6ssis sur l 'embase).

(Markierung D) l6sen, undGetriebe nach links verschieben.

- CD-Frontrahmenheraushebenund um 90" nach l inks drehen, bisder 'Clamper ' -Arm aus demGetriebe ausgerastet ist.

Panneau frontal d6coratif de laplatine laser/carte "PCB 2O Doorsensor" (6metteur-r6cepteur dela porte)- Enlever les panneaux frontaux

d6coratifs en tissu.- Enlever les 4 vis maintenant le

panneau frontal d6coratif de laplat ine laser.

- Desserrer les 4 vis D de lapignonner ie. Repousser lapignonner ie vers la gauche.

- Sortir le panneau frontal d6coratifde la platine laser en le soulevant,le tourner de 90" vers la gauchejusqu'd ce que le levier dudisposi t i f de maint ien ne soi t p lusen pr ise avec la pignonner ie.

Tape/Keyboard front frame- Remove the front fabric frames.- Remove the four screws holding

the Tape/Keyboard front frame.- Pull out the Tape/Keyboard front

frame when the foot has beenremoved (remount chassis onfoot).

Gearbox/PGB 9 Gear sensor- Remove the front fabric frames.- Turn the gear of the gearbox

- Pul l the s l id ing bracket for theglass door free of the gearboxarm in the open posi t ion.

- Remove the four gearbox screwsmarked D.

- Pull out the gearbox (easegearbox and clamper arms free)and remove the plugs 5P17 and5P18.

- Dismantle the gearbox byremoving the four screws E.

Sliding bracket for glass door- Pul l the s l id ing bracket for the

glass door free of the gearboxarm in the open posi t ion.

- Push the sl id ing bracket down andoff.

TransformerRemove the front fabric frames.Remove the Tape/Keyboard frontf rame.Remove plug 10P12.Remove five screws.Pul l out the t ransformer, andremove 5P13 and 5P18 (pul l thetwo leads out of the spring-loaded socket by pushing apointed object into the free holeabove the lead to be removed).

Uhrzeigersinn drehen, bis derSchl i t ten der Glastur und CD-'Clamper' in offener Positionstehen.

- Schlitten der Glastur vomGetr iebearm in Posi t ion'Offen'f re iheben.

- Die 4 Schrauben des Getr iebes(Markierung D) entfernen.

- Getr iebeherausziehen (Getr iebe-und'Clamper ' -Arm vorsicht igherausl6sen), und dieSteckverbindungen 5P1 7 und5P18 abmont ieren.

- Zum Zer legen des Getr iebes die 4Schrauben (Markierung E)entfernen.

Schlitten fiir Glastiir- Schl i t ten der Glastur vom

Getr iebearm in Posi t ion'Offen'f re iz iehen.

- Schl i t ten nach unten drUcken undabnehmen.

Transformator- Frontstoffrahmen entfernen.- Tape/Keyboard-Frontrahmen

entfernen.- Steckverbindung 1OP12

abmont ieren.- 5 Schrauben entfernen.- Transformator herausziehen und

5P13 und 5P18 abmont ieren (diebeiden Lei tungen aus denFederanschl ussen hera usziehen.(Hierzu ist ein spitzer Gegenstandin das freie Loch uber jeder der zul6senden Leitungenhineinzudrucken).

Panneau frontal d6coratif Tape/Keyboard (platine-cassettes/clavier)- Deposer les panneaux frontaux

decoratifs en tissu.- Enlever les 4 v is maintenant le

panneau frontal decoratif de laplatine-cassettes et du clavier.

- Sortir le panneau frontal de laplatine-cassettes et du clavieraprds avoir enlev6 l 'embase(remonter le ch6ssis sur l 'embase).

Pignonnerie/carte "PCB 9 Gearsensor" (capteur de pignonnerie)- D6poser les panneaux frontaux

d6coratifs en tissu.- Tourner la roue dentee de la

pignonner ie dans le sensant ihoraire jusqu'd ce que lechariot de la porte vitr6e et ledisposi t i f de maint ien du CDsoient en position ouverte.

- En position ouverte, degager lechariot de la porte vitr6e du brasde la pignonner ie.

- Enlever les 4 v is D de lapignonner ie.

- Sort i r la pignonner ie (d6gageravec pr6caution le bras de lapignonner ie et le levier dudisposi t i f de maint ien).Debrancher les f iches 5P17 et5P18.

- D6sassembler la pignonner ie enenlevant les 4 v is E.

Chariot de la porte vitr6e- En position ouverte, degager le

chariot de la porte vitree du brasde la pignonner ie.

- Appuyer sur le char iot pour led69ager.

Transformateur- Deposer les panneaux frontaux

d6coratifs en tissu.- Enlever le panneau frontal

decoratif de la platine-cassettes etdu clavier.

- D6brancher la fiche 10P12.- Enlever 5 v is.- Sortir le transformateur en le

tirant et d6brancher les fiches5P1 3 et 5P18 (sort i r les deux f i ls dela fiche d ressort en enfonqant unobjet pointu dans l 'orif ice l ibresurmontant le f i l a degager) .

entfernen.- Die 6 Schrauben (Markierung B)

auf PCB 2 entfernen, und PCB 2 inService-Position bri ngen.

Cartes "PCB 1 Tuner" (s6lecteurde canaux)/"PCB 17 Front end"ll est possible d'amener le cot6pr imaire en posi t ion de maintenanceen pivotant la carte PCB 2 dans uneposition correspondante.- D6poser la face arridre.- Enlever 3 vis et pivoter la carte

PCB 1 en position demaintenance. Ne pas oubl ier derelier le c6ble de masse A la prised'antenne lors du montage.

Cartes "PCB 2 Amplifier"(ampl if icateur)/" PCB 22 Activefilter" (filtre actif)- D6poser le panneau frontal

d6coratif droit en tissu.- Enlever les 6 vis B de la carte PCB 2

et pivoter cette carte en positionde maintenance.

PCB 3 Microprocessor- Remove the Tape/Keyboard front

frame.- Remove the plugs, l i ft the spring-

loaded pins (one in each side) andpul l out PCB 3.

PCB4Disp lay&Keyboard- Remove the Tape/Keyboard front

f rame.- Remove the stiffening plate and

lift PCB 4 free of the Tape/Keyboard front frame.

When replacing contact foil, thecover plate may be cut free of pCB 4with a knife/scissors.

PCB 5 Power supply and motorcontrolService position for the primary sidecan be obtained by removing thegearbox.- Remove the rear panel.- Remove the two transport screws

for CD as well as the two screwsholding the metal rear plate.

- Loosen PCB 5 by means of the twospr ing- loaded pins, and remove al lp lugs.

PCB 6lR receiver- Remove the CD and Tape/

Keyboard front frames.- Pull out PCB 6 into service

posi t ion.

PCB 7 Tape/PCB 12 OscillatorService position for the primary sidecan be obtained by turning pCB 2into service position.- Remove the rear panel.- Loosen PCB 7 by means of the

spr ing- loaded pin.

PCB 3 Mikroprozessor- Tape/Keyboard-Frontrahmen

entfernen.- Steckverbindungen entfernen,

Federzapfen anheben (einer aufjeder Seite) und PCB 3herausziehen.

PCB4Disp lay&Keyboard- Tape/Keyboard-Frontrahmen

entfernen.- Versteifungsplatte entfernen, und

Tape/Keyboa rd-Frontra hmenfreiheben.

Zum Austausch der Kontaktfoliekann die Abdeckplatte von PCB 4f rei geschn itten werden.

PCB 5 Stromversorgung undMotorsteuerung (Power Supplyand Motor ControlService-Position fur die Primdrseitekann durch Entfernen des Getriebeserzielt werden.- RUckwandteil entfernen.- Die beiden Transportschrauben

fur den CD-Tei l sowie die beidenSchrauben, die die RUckplat te ausMetal I festhalten, entfernen.

- PCB 5 mit Hi l fe der beidenFederzapfen losen und al leSteckverbindungen abmontieren.

PCB 5 lR-Empfdnger (lR Receiver)- CD- und Tape/Keyboard-

Frontrahmen entfernen.- PCB 6 in Service-Position

herausziehen.

PCB 7 Tape/PCB 12 OszillatorService-Position fur die Primiirseitekann dadurch erziel t werden, daBPCB 2 in Service-Position gedrehtwird.- Ruckwandtei lent fernen.- PCB 7 mit Hilfe des Federzapfens

losen.

Carte "PCB 3 Microprocessor"(microprocesseur)- D6poser le panneau frontal


- D6brancher les fiches, soulever lesergots 6lastiques (un de chaquecote) et sortir la carte PCB 3 en lat i rant .

Carte "PCB 4 Display &Keyboard" (affichage et clavier)- D6poser le panneau frontal


- Deposer la plaque de renfort etsoulever la carte PCB 4 pour lad6gager du panneau frontaldecoratif de la platine-cassettes etdu clavier.

Pour changer le fi lm de contact, i l estpossible de decouper la plaque deprotection afin de l 'enlever de lacarte PCB 4.

Carte "PCB 5 Power supply andmotor control" (al imentation6lectrique et commande moteur)l l est possible d'amener le c6t6pr imaire en posi t ion de maintenanceen d6posant la pignonner ie.- Deposer la face arridre.- Enlever les deux vis de transfert

du CD ainsi que les deux vismaintenant la plaque metal l iquearr idre.

- Degager la carte PCB 5 en agissantsur les deux ergots elastiques etdebrancher l 'ensemble des f iches.

Carte "PCB 5 lR receiver"(r6cepteur lR)- D6poser le panneau frontal

decoratif de la platine laser et del'ensem ble plati ne-cassettes/c lavier.

- Sortir la carte PCB 6 pour l 'ameneren position de maintenance.

Cartes "PCB 7 Tape" (platine-cassettes)/"PGB 12 Oscillator"(oscillateur)l l est possible d'amener le cotepr imaire en posi t ion de maintenanceen pivotant la carte PCB 2 dans uneposition corresponda nte.- D6poser la face arridre.- Degager la carte PCB 7 en agissant

sur les deux ergots elastiques.

- Pul l PCB 10 backwards and out ofthe product by pul l ing caut iouslyat the transformer.

PCB 11 RE-deck electronics- Remove the Tape/Keyboard front

frame.- Remove the three screws holding

the cover plate, and take out thetape transport mechanism. PCB 11is located at the very top of thetape transport mechanism.

PCB 12 Oscil latorSee PCB 7 Tape.

PCB 17 Front endSee PCB 1 Tuner.

- Die 5 Schrauben, die denTra nsformator festha lten,abmont ieren.

- Durch vorsicht iges Ziehen amTransformator PCB 10 nach hintenaus dem Gerdt herausziehen.

PCB 11 'RE-Deck elektronic'- Tape/Keyboard-Frontrahmen

entfernen.Die 3 Schrauben, die dieAbdeckplatte halten, entfernenund das Tape-Laufwerkherausheben. PCB 11 sitzt ganzoben auf dem Tape-Laufwerk.

PCB 12 Oszil latorSiehe hierzu PCB 7 Tape.

PCB 17'Front End'Siehe hierzu PCB 1 Tuner.

D6poser le panneau frontaldecoratif de la platine-cassettes etdu clavier.Enlever les 3 v is maintenant laplaque de protection et souleverle m6canisme d'entrainement dela cassette. La carte PCB 11 estlogee sur le haut du mecanisme.
