DESCRIPTION
A Bengali-language article of Jerome D'Costa calling for implementation of the Bengali language as the medium of instruction for higher studies (in colleges and universities) in East Pakistan. With sound reasoning and citing examples of some European and Asian countries, it was written in the spirit of nationalism after Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's Awami League party got overwhelmingly elected in 1970 to rule whole of Pakistan (both East and West Pakistan). This article was published in the 'Pratibeshi,' the national Catholic weekly (February 21, 1971) of Dhaka.
