Bendigo Bank Day - Sponsored by the Balnarring & District Community Bank Branch The Bendigo Bank Day was played in beautiful sunny conditions and great spirits by teams from all parts of the peninsula and beyond, including a team from Trafalgar in Gippsland. We could not have asked for better weather or indeed better competition from all competing teams, who played great bowls trying to win all three games to be announced the overall winners of the day. It was fierce but fair. The greens were good and although the top green was only running at 13 seconds most were happy with the way the day progressed. At the halfway break many teams came into the clubhouse hoping to take the glory and enjoyed a lovely cooked lunch and well deserved beverage (or two). Back out on to the rinks and then it got a bit more serious. You knew you had to play well to win the day and the tension rose as well as the temperature. There were many high fives and a bit of yahoo-ing but in the end it was a Balnarring Team that managed to take the honors for the day. Jack Guthrie’s team with Allan Anderson, Grant Stapleton and John Forster took the chocolates and weren't they proud. Great effort guys.Runners up were Don Smythe, Peter Rumble, Wilson Golby and Graeme Fullaway which is no mean feat considering the strength of the competition.

We would like to thank the Balnarring & District and Community Bank Branch at Balnarring for sponsoring the day and also for the support they have given the Balnarring Bowls Club. They sponsored this day last year and had not as yet opened for business. The Manager (Rachel) has been fabulous in forging a partnership with Balnarring Bowls Club which we truly appreciate and thank her and everyone at the bank for thier support.

We look forward to a long and prosperous association
