Available Monday – Friday from 8:40AM –4:30PM
Provide academic, career, personal, and social development.
Write letters of recommendations (MUST have a resume in advance and at least five day notice)
Review each student’s graduation status and create a plan of action to ensure success.

Student Responsibilities
Log on to Canvas daily for discussions and assignments.
Complete all assignments in a timely manner.
Complete the Senior Information Sheet (There will be link on the counselors canvas page in the coming weeks)
Explore career options – take an interest inventory on CFNC.ORG
Ask for HELP.

NC GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS***22 correct credits new minimum***
English (4 credits required) - I, II, III, and IV
Mathematics (4 credits required) - Math I, II, III, and a 4th math course
Science (3 credits required) – Earth/Environmental Science,
Physical Science/Chem., Biology
Social Studies (4 credits required) – World History, Civic and Economics,
American History 1 & 2
Health and Physical Education - (1 credit required) + CPR 2 electives from either CTE, Arts, or World Language
*2 World Languages are required for UNC Systems Universities*
Options for High School StudentsCollege and Career Promise (CCP)
Students with unweighted GPA of 2.8 or higher are eligible to take college courses at GTCC
Courses will replace high school electives and will weigh the same as an IB/AP course toward GPA
Courses will be offered online and in-person
Tuition is free
Textbook cost range from $25-$150 ( student and family responsibility)
Application due date September 3,2020

Early Grad- If you complete your graduation requirements first semester, you may be eligible for early grad..
You will be able to participate in all senior related activities that occur second semester (functions, graduation)
You will NOT be able to participate in sports second semester

UNC system updated admission requirements for the states 16 public Universities
Students must meet EITHER the GPA or test score standard-but NOT both!!!! The minimum GPA is 2.5, the minimum SAT score is now 1010, and the minimum ACT score is 19!!!!!
