Shipping Research Centre of the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies of PolyU aims to

promote best practices in shipping, to improve shipping management, and to strengthen the

theoretical base of decision making in shipping and logistics management.

The Hong Kong Sea Transport and Logistics Association represents the collective interests of

the shipping and logistics industry. Shipping companies, forwarders, logistics companies and

other agents have an authoritative voice and representation within the government and

across industries in the private sector, both in Hong Kong and abroad through the Association.

The Transport Logistics Training Board of the VTC is established to support the manpower

development needs of the Transport Logistics industry. Its duties are to ascertain the manpower

needs of the industry, and to recommend manpower initiatives to meet the needs. It also plays

an important advisory role on setting out directions, strategic development and quality

assurance mechanisms for VTC’s programmes.
