I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that Alethea Cono, one of our two Sales Directors, has moved to Boston last month as her husband took on a position there. Many of you know Alethea as she assisted you with your move here to Belmont Village. We wish her the best! Michelle has worked to cover this important department, spending most of her time in the community. We appreciate her ability to juggle the outside events along with the tours that come in on a daily basis while we find Alethea’s replacement. Tips for a Thinner ThanksgivingGaining weight during the

holiday season is a nationalpastime. Did you know that mostpeople gain at least a poundduring the holiday? Some evengain more. Worst is most peoplekeep that weight on permanently.

The good news is with a littleknowledge, you can indulge inyourself in traditional holiday fareand still enjoy a guilt-freeThanksgiving feast. After all, beingstuffed is a good idea only if youare a turkey.

Get Active: Eat less and exercisemore during the holidays toprevent weight gain. Boost thefrequency of your fitness routinein the weeks ahead of the feast.Take a walk early Thanksgivingday and then again after dinner if

you are up to it. It is a wonderfulway for families to get physicaland enjoy the holiday at thesame time.

Eat Breakfast: Eating a smallmeal in the morning may give youmore control over your hunger.Start your day with a healthybreakfast, preferably one withprotein and fiber, which may helptake the edge off your cravingsand allow you to be more sensiblelater in the day during the“big feast.”

Watch Your Portions: Beforefilling up your plate, evaluate thebuffet table and decide whatyou’re going to choose. Don’tsquander your calories on foodsthat you can have all year long.Indulge with small portions ofholiday favorites so you can enjoyyour traditional favorites.

Best Bets on the Table: Whiteturkey meat, plain vegetables, roasted sweet potatoes, mashedpotatoes and defatted gravy tend tobe the best bets because they arelower in fat and calories.

Skip the Seconds andLeftovers: Try to resist thetemptation of second helpings orleftovers. You are less likely toovereat and have more room for adelectable dessert. But only oneslice of that pumpkin pie!
