The youth will serve pizza under the tent. Donations are requested to cover the cost and proceeds will go toward the youth scholarship fund. Family Craft Night is open to any age, so kids, parents, caregivers, and grandparents are all welcome. Make crafts as you snap pictures and store up warm feelings about Christmas. If you wish to attend, just show up! If you are a crafty per- son and willing to volunteer to host a crafts table. If so, please contact Pastor Kate (kate@ belmontumc.org). We invite families to craft their own Chrismon or Christ ornaments to bring to church and display. Let us practice by claiming space for the symbols of Christ’s coming that remind us to worship God, serve neigh- bors, live generously, and build God’s just Kin-dom. Continued on page 2 Christmas Miracle Offering This year’s recipient of Belmont UMC’s Christmas Miracle offering, Tennessee Justice for Our Neigh- bors (TNJFON), serves a growing need in our community as more immigrants begin a new life in Nash- ville. TNJFON, a nonprofit organization, provides free or low-cost legal ser- vices to immigrants who are eligible for humanitarian-based immigration relief, advocates for immigrants’ rights, and educates the community about immigration issues. During their legal clinics, TNJFON staff and lawyers provide a free intake screen- ing to determine if there is a form of immigration relief available. TN- JFON also trains lawyers and law students on immigration law and provides a free multi-session educa- tional program to noncitizen parents to help them understand the U.S. im- migration system and how to be more informed participants in their immi- gration case.
