FROM THE EDITORBella Entertainment has become such a great joy for me to produce for the public. It’s amazing how far we have already come in just the first issue. Many great people have made it into what it is now and I would like to thank them all for contributing their work.

My staff and I strive to bring you the up and coming events of spokane and give you an inside look into them. We want to showcase the beautiful and talented people of Spokane so that you, your family, friends and co-workers can enjoy a bit of entertainment anywhere.

Our plan is to become a printed publication, and to do that we need the help of you, our beautiful community of Spokane. Once printed, our magazine will be dis-tributed all around Spokane, Post Falls, Coeur D’Alene and surrounding areas, it will also be available online in digital form and can be printed from there as well.

Really excited to see how you will fall in love with our publication. Our goal is to not only show off the Photographers of Spokane but also our musicians, art-ists, designers, and talented entertainers.

I want to thank each and every one of you who have picked up this publication to read. Hope that you all enjoy this as much as I have enjoyed putting this amaz-ing publication together for everyone.

Peace and love,

Cassandra Dhaenens

Desirae Start, since she was a little

girl has always had a creative

imagination, but was never

able to express it because of

life’s circumstances. Her determination by

not letting her mom and dad know about

her endeavors started at a young age. She

auditioned for Starlet Stairway and was in

the top six out of several thousand contes-

tants. Her parents did not know that she

was behind the staged phone call asking

her to audition. She made a TV appearance

on the Captain Kangaroo show and won

coloring contests for award money. As a

school majorette and part of the drill team

she kept busy all the while earning good

grades. Being involved in so many things

caught the attention of many people and

she was nominated for Lilac Princess. During

her spare time she loved to draw and write

short stories. After graduation she worked

for the local newspaper as a keypunch oper-

ator. Married at age 19, which has lasted 34

years, she has given birth to 9 children, 7 of

which were home births.

She taught herself how to sew along with

other crafty things including quilting, cross-

stitch, needle point and anything else she

could learn. Soon she was displaying her

garments in three local fabric stores and

became a regular seamstress for clients.

Avid gardener of produce and flowers, she

also refinish’s antique and used furniture.

For 51 years she had always shied away

from a camera, so not many photos will be

found of her. That was until a photographer

saw something in her. Subsequent images

revealed a natural grace and her inner beau-

ty was displayed. In 2012 she did the first of

almost 2 dozen Runway, shows several of

them with her youngest daughter Ashley.

Doing dozens of photo shoots with photog-

raphers while also helping in set design and

staging of numerous shoots has been keep-

ing her busy. She loves being creative in all

that she does because art in most forms

can be beautiful and uplifting not only for

herself but others that see it and appreci-

ate the heart and soul into a piece of wood,

fabric or a camera lens. As she became more

confident her images improved and she has

seen and felt a difference within herself.

Her numerous runway shows modeling gigs

and magazine covers these last three years

has helped increase her self-confidence and

boosted her self esteem. She hopes who-

ever reads this will be inspired and reach out

of their comfort zone and experience what

you can only dream about. It will be a life

changing experience!!! “54 is only a number,

what do you feel inside”? Desirae comment-

ed, she is just starting to live and her 50’s

are her 30’s. Living her life after sacrificing

so much for her family (happily) she wants

to see where her full potential takes her, the

sky is the limit. Oh and yes in her ripe young

age she is going to try skydiving ! ! !

KENNA SHEA MARBACH

19 YEARS OLD

AND DOES

IT ALL

Kenna, a model of 4 years, talent

scout for The Fifth Element Talent

Productions and recently becoming

a Go-Go dancer. Letting her age fool

you would be proposterous. Only 19, this girl

can pretty much do it all, Co-run events, train

models to walk the runway with class, style

hair and make-up and be able to pick out a

great model or singer from a crowd.

With going to school, working and modeling

on the side, some may say she already has

her hands full, but within this year she added

another talent; Go-Go dancing. Her debut

was at the 2014 Burleskival, where she rocked

the stage, not only as a dancer, but also as a

model for Sami Wild Designs. Kenna took 3rd

place in this event, but her family, friends,

and fans made her feel like she had won first

place.

This opportunity landed her a couple of

gigs working as a go-go dancer at some of

Spokanes well known clubs. She was also

invited to audition to dance with Synergy

dance team here in Spokane. Kenna is a natu-

ral when it comes to dancing and she didn’t

know it until a good friend of hers pushed her

into auditioning for Burleskival, which jump

started more avenues for her career.

Kenna has been a part of the Divino family

for several years and during that time she

has learned how to own the runway. Because

of her great talent in walking the runway,

she has been teaching others how to walk

in modeling classes provided by The Fifth

Element Talent Productions.

She is very loved by all of us here at Bella

Entertainment and by all of the Divino Family.

Here at Bella Entertainment we can’t wait to

see you soar into greatness.

JHUNT PHOTOGRAPHYJARRETT

HUNT

arrett Hunt, also known by Hunt due to being in

the military. Originally from Houston, Texas where

he stayed until after high school. He didn’t grow

up in a wealthy family nor a poor one. However he did miss out on

a lot of things because of lack of money.

He joined the Air Force right after high school and was lucky

enough to be stationed in Japan for his first duty assignment.

Japan is where he picked up my first DSLR camera, the D3100.

Jarrett states he only chose the Nikon over the Canon because his

best friend at the time picked up a Canon first. He had to be differ-

ent and went the Nikon route, Not too long later he outgrew the

D3100 and picked up a D7000 for more manual controls. He then

became known as the photographer of his squadron.

Fast forward two years. Stationed in South Korea, he met some

really great people, both Koreans and Americans. “The food was

awesome! Loved all the spices in the food, and the kind people”.

His photography started to get better as he made friends with

other photographers after joining a club on base. He started to

shift towards portraits as he learned more about light and other

aspects that he somehow missed out on in Japan. He started to

take his camera to an orphanage to capture some pictures of

children.

One year later he was sent to live in lil ole Spokane. now here he

began learning from local photograpers of Spokane and honing

his skills. One of the youngest photographer in the photographer/

modeling community of Spokane. Right now he shoots with

aspiring models in the area. He would like to shoot family photos

but that seems to be the hardest for him. Nevertheless he looks

forward to learning more about it. Like most of the other pho-

tographers in the area He uses lights on location to give me the

advantage when shooting. He doesn’t have a studio but he tries

not to let that slow him down.

Mark Anthony owner of Anthony

Productions started his photography

career when he was 16 years old, work-

ing for his hometown newspaper he

advanced to chief photographer within a few years.

He then landed “a good government job” working

as a civilian employee with the US Army Corps of

Engineers in aerial photography. The skills he learned

doing productions for the visitor centers on the Snake

and Columbia Rivers Hydroelectric projects helped

him launch a Multi-Image production company which

developed into the largest in the Pacific Northwest.

His clients are spread across the United States and

range from Microsoft to Inland Imaging locally. He

currently has two photography enterprises. Images &

Ink Photographic Art with partner Tamara Vaughn and

Anthony Productions.

Images & Ink produces Photographic Art that are one

of a kind images that offices and residences use for

interior design. They work in conjunction with interior

designers and home owners to give the look and feel

the client wants.

Anthony Productions has three divisions: commercial

photography, event photography and video produc-

tion. He has traveled from Seattle to New York and has

captured many phenomenal images in his travels to

those places. From models to weddings and more Mark

has excelled, his work can be seen in many places. But

his photos aren’t the whole story. Though he creates

beautiful works of art he has a loving and caring per-

sonality that all of his clients, friends, and family adore

about him, which makes them want to come back and

work with him more.

Mark’s work has stood the test of time and the man

know his stuff. His impeccable knowledge of lighting

would amaze the most amateur of photographers

and have the professionals asking questions. He has

passed his legacy on to his daughter Alicia Marie, Who

has teamed up with her new husband Jed much of

their work can be found on their Facebook page The

BUSBY WORLDCOMPANY

Mike was born and raised in Ellensburg, a small farming and college town located in central Washington state. He earned a B.S. in Management Science, holds a degree in

photography and is working on a Masters degree in Visual Literacy. Mike has strong ties to the American West. He explores the dry deserts and rustic farmlands of Eastern Washington, and travels the Pacific North-west, viewing them all as his playground.

Mike will tell you he is looking for images that reveal themselves. He understands the beauty existing in people, things, and the land. He lives for moments when the currents of life speak to larger themes. Many of his images are surreal, and they allow us to look be-yond conventional sight and thought. “Creative inter-pretation gives meaning to our world. It is the forge of understanding as well as expression.” Mike’s imagery serves as a reminder that creative encounters occur where we look for them, as well as where they find us.

The camera is an extension of the creative view. Mike immerses himself with encounters to form artistic visions. He will employ the camera, light, perspective, and anything else to will his visions into existence. “The camera, like our voice, is a medium of individual expression and thought”. Mike encourages people to challenge conformity by rejecting those limitations that others would impose on us.

Mystery and the unknown captivate our imaginations, and they thrive at the crossroads of reason, dream, myth, emotion and spirit. This is where Mike lives, and he invites you into to his world.

STAR SEARCHIN’The 30th of October marked the date of Spokane’s 2nd annual Star Searchin’ finals. The event, for the talented locals who were selected for the semi-finals earlier this year, calls them back for a chance at the finals. Contestant performers ranged from singers, rappers, models, and one particularly silly comedian.

25 contestants competed in the semi finals on September 25th at a local club called Swaxx. Bella Entertainment’s own Cheif Editor was asked to be one of 3 judges for this event and got an inside look into the great talent during the over 2 hour long show.

The finals was held at the famous Bing Crosby Theater

and the night was amazing. At the end of the night a winner was announced, Marie who was given a devel-opmental package that included a year of modeling classes and a professional photoshoot, the second place winner and the audience’s pick walked away with a recording of his own song. Bethanie Elaine took the title of miss photogenic.

The Oracles are an EDM duo (Electro House/Progressive House/

Trance) made up of The deanE (Brandon Deane) and Starling (Emma Benson).

The deanE started out in Spokane, Washington and Seattle, Washington play-

ing gigs at local clubs such as Volume in Seattle, Last Supper Club, Dante’s,

and small venues in the Spokane area before pairing up with Starling, The

deanE won a contest beating out 200 Northwest Dj’s and was given the

chance to open for Flux Pavillion, Chuckie, Mat Zo, and David Solano where

he played to about 2,500 - 3,000. After playing that gig The deanE was

booked at the previously mentioned clubs in Seattle....after playing clubs in

those cities he decided to put all his efforts into producing at which time he

paired up with Starling forming The Oracles!

The deanE is a House/Progressive/Trance producer, a DJ, as well as a hip

hop style dancer. His producing ranges from original hard hitting house, to

trance style songs involving Starling’s vocals. He also remixes rock, hip-hop,

and other genres and turns them into house versions. Some artists he has

remixed are Gorilla Zoe, Pretty Ricky, Disturbed, Papa Roach, Faith Hill, Linkin

Park, and Hinder....with many, many more to come. In his live shows he

involves dance into his sets, motions to certain sounds, and brings more of

a high energy performance to the stage than just a DJ. His theory is that his

energy will rub off on the crowd and get more people dancing.....with bring-

ing solid music at all times of course.

His sets are very high energy, and they compare to such art-ists as Nicky Romero, Hardwell, Danny Avila, and R3hab. He is known in the Northwest as an extremely aggressive promoter and has built most of his following online. The deanE has also been featured twice on the Seattle radio station C89.5 on the show Decibel Junkiez on Thursday nights.

Starling is a House/Trance/Opera/Blues/Classical singer and also writes original lyrics for many of The Oracles tracks. She also composes many melodies for TheOracles tracks as well. Starling has sang at venues in Spokane and Leavenworth, WA. She brings extreme diversity to the table as a vocalist. On one hand she sings house/trance and blues music, and on the other she is an opera and classical singer as well. The Oracles are working on blending blues and opera with house and trance as a way to stand out from other acts. Starling also does covers of Non-EDM songs that The deanE takes and turns into house music versions! Starling has won awards in central Washington for her outstanding vocal performances through the Washington Music Teacher’s Association.

BURLESKIVALThis four hour event was a night to remember, with Go-Go danc-ers showing off their moves, bands playing their hearts out and designers showing off their latest and greatest lingerie lines. The night was a hit, while held at The Bing Crosby Theater.

Dale Strom the brains behind the operation produced the entire show with the help of Nancy Bates who volunteered her time when she heard of this amazing event.

With designers Sami Wild and Desirae Start it gave the show a victoria secret feel for the audi-ence. Deisrae can also be found on our cover.

The main attraction of the event was the Go-Go dancer competition where the audi-ence got to choose who won. All of the dancers were amazing and even got graced with the beautiful Gigi Spott with her burlesque performance.

The events photographer was Mark Anthony of Anthony productions you can find more about him on page 14 and is also Bella Entertainments Head Photographer.

DEAR PHOEBEDear Phoebe,

I am having troubles with other models talking ill of me. This frustrates me to no end. I have been dealing with this issue for a few months now and just don’t know what to do. Its getting so bad that some of the photographers in my area don’t want to work with me because of them putting down my name. What would you suggest I do?

Bullied Model

Dear Bullied Model,

I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. No one should ever have to deal with any type of bullying. The best advice that I can give you is to ignore them, don’t engage with them in any way and laugh it off. Just keep your chin held high and know you are unique and beautiful in your own way. Prove them all wrong by exuding your confidence and keep going for your dream. Forget those haters, your opinion of yourself is all that matters.

Love Phoebe
