Chapter One

DDDIIINNNGGG DDDIINNNNGGMy alarm clock rang as I tried to get myself to wake up

Jenny ah wake up! Youre going to be late for school! my mom yelled from the hall.

Ah la suh..! (okey) I yelled back as I got up and walked into the bathroom to get readyAhhhh another day of school I grumbled as I squeezed toothpaste onto my toothbrush andstarted brushing my teeth.

Thirty mintues later, I was all done and walked downstairs to the kitchen to have a quick breakfast.

Umma (mom), ah chim joh (give me breakfast) I said as I sat down at my dinning table.

Jenny, you better eat in ten minutes or your gonna be late as always! I hate having your teachers call meand tell me that you were tardy for class! If I get another phone call, its going to be the10th time thisMONTH!! my mom lectured me as she handed me a bowl of cereal and milk.

okey okey, dont worry.. Im not going to be late today! I told her with a fake smile on Every morning,all my mom ever talks to me about is me being late for schoolI can never have a morning on schooldays without my mom telling me to hurry up Ahhhh.. LiFE~!

Bye! I yelled as I walked out of the house to walk to school. Such a beautiful day~! I thought to myselfas I walked to school. To tell you the truth, school wasnt all bad. I mean, of course Im not the prettiestgirl or the most popular girl at school, but as most people, I just like to hang out with my friends

The bell rang for class as I barely made it in class.

Wow Look who made it just in time for class.. my teach Mrs. Park said with a smirk on her face as Iwalked into class.. The rest of the class giggled and I could feel my cheeks getting red as I sat at my seatin the back of the class.

teachers.. I murmered Mrs. Park didnt really like me because I was always tardy for class and I had a

problem once with her before. I kinda eh.. tripped her in front of the whole class and unfortunately thatday, she was wearing a short skirt and it ripped up her butt But of course, I didnt do that on purpose. Iwould never do such a thing like that Especially to teachers, but she thought I really meant and sent meto the principals office and everything and you probably know what happened next

okey class, take out your Prep for College English books.. Mrs. Park said .. Yup.. as you can see, Imgoing to go to college next year. Which makes me a Senior now in high school.

ey.. um.. Jenny, can I share with you? I kinda forgot mine in my locker I turned to see who had askedme and I couldnt believe my eyes. It was one of the most popular guys at school It was Kim Dongwan!

uh.. I said gulping down my spit that had built up sure I answered

He moved his desk closer to mine and I moved my book closer to his desk.

ThankS he said with a killer smile. I smiled back at him and turned to face the teacher

OmG I cant believe Im sharing my book with him~! I thought in my head and started day dreaming ofhow it would feel like if Dongwan fell in love with me

Chapter Two

yeAh and my class went by like that I was in the middle of my day dreaming when someone tappedmy shoulder

WHAT! I yelled opening my eyes When I opened my eyes, I found that the whole class includingDongwan and Mrs. Park was staring at me. O.o

WelCome back to our world Mrs. Kim Mrs. Park said with one eye brow raised and started telling usour homework.

heh who tha heck tapped me on my shoulder? I asked Dongwan

um.. it was me.. he answered with a smile..

ahhhhhh.. yoo dead! I thought.. um.. heh.. Thank you? I told him with a evil smirk..

no prob. He said simply as if nothing bad had happened..

After ten minutes, the bell FINALLY rang.

Thank havens I murmmered as I picked my books and walked to my locker.

When I arrived at my locker, I saw that my best friend was already there.

Hey Sunny~! I said as I tried to open my locker.. her locker is right next to my locker so thatsgood..hehe

Hi Jenny. OmG.. Did you hear about the SM entertainment Spring Audition? she asked with her eyesbigger than usual.. O.O

What? Are you serious? When is it? I asked.. I have always wanted to become a singer It was mydream.

its at the end of this month at SM building at seoul. She said as she handed me a peace of paper.

thank you so much! I know I cant live without~! I said as I gave her a hug ..

haha.. no prob.. she said as she tried to get away from my hug

well then Ill see you at lunch. I said as I walked to my dreadful science class.

um I didnt know what to say.. he might think Im stupid or something if I say Im going to try out.. Ithought..

whoa.. dang.. slow down when you talk.. he said smiling.. well, you of course need a good voicewhen you audition you cant use backup music. It has to be only your voice. And tell your friend to try torelax judges dont like it if you are nervous because that is how you will probably be at concerts if you

Chapter three

The rest of school went by slowly All I got towards the end of the school day was homework and morehomework.

After school, I walked home with my guy friend Fanny A lot of girls liked him but he didnt really like girlsthat much

I walked into my room and dropped my backpack on the floor So HeAvy~! I complained to myself..

hhmmmm I have to pick out some songs I thought as I walked over to my cdz and started samplingthe songs and looking at the lyricz just to let you know, I have A LOT of CDz because I am absolutely inlove with music I probably would die if someone took away all my CDz

After about thirty minutes of looking through CD after CD after CDz I finally picked out the song that Iliked the best and I felt confident to sing IT was you wouldnt know by finkl..

I turned that song on my boombox and started to sing with it.. I know I know.. its with four people.. but Ithink I can manage just singing me alone.. anywayz, I said on the audition paper that I only need to singfor 1 minute of the song I practiced for an hour or so when I finally got really thirsty and my throat feltlike it was ready to explodeI walked downstairs to get something to drink when I saw my mom come in the front door

Hi mom..! I said cheerfully giving her a warm smile..

hey sweetie.. she said smiling back..

guess what? Im going to try out for the SM spring audtion.. its at the end of this month.. so Im reallyexcited.. I said all at once..

thats great hunny~! she said as she gave me a hug.. you know that Ill support you 100percent.. yourvoice is like an angels..

ahhh.. mom.. you dont have to be that sweet.. well anywayz.. I need some water.. I said as I walked tothe kitchen

why dont we go shopping once and get some clothes for you to wear to the audition dang.. this isreally exciting for me.. mom said as she entered the kitchen..

omG.. tomorrows the big day!! I squeeked as I jumped up and down

okey calm down.. soo.. are you ready with your song? Sunny asked.. me and her were at our lockersbecause it was lunch time..

yes.. I practiced forever to get it perfect and plus, my mom bought me a perfect outfit to wear foraudition.. I told her with a smile that was a mile long..

good.. I know that you will do well she said for now, lets get some lunch..

we walked to the cafeteria to get something to eat, but I couldnt help myself from smiling to myself.. I wasreally excited and I couldnt take my mind off of it

Chapter Four

The next day, I got up extra early to practice before I went to school. By now, my voice had gotten reallygood and I was sure that I would at least make the top three

Jenny ah my mom called from downstairs..

Nae umma..? I yelled..

come downstairs.. your gonna be late for school! she yelled

I looked at my clock to see that I only had 20minutes before school started SHOOT!

I grabbed my backpack and ran downstairs.. Luckily, my mom had my breakfast ready for me.. .. I quicklystarted eating

eat slowly, youre going to get sick.. my mom scolded me..

ahh.. alahsuh..(okey) Im going to come home right after school and change and go right to the auditionso dont worry okey? I told my mom

dont worry hun, Im not stupid .. she said plainly as she washed the dishes

Well Im going then,.. wish me luck umma! I said as I ran to the door..

I wish you luck! Call me for the good news! she yelled

I walked to school with butterflies in my stomach aigoo.. why am I getting jumpy already! I have 10hours until the audition!! I thought to myself while trying to calm myself down

The bell for my college prep class rang ahhh just in time as always..I sat down at my seat and got ready for class when someone tapped me on the shoulder

what do you want.. I said not bothering to see who it was..

uh can you.. uh share your book with me? it was Dongwan that had tapped..

gosh.. Im going to get in trouble agen!!! I thought to myself.. o wellz, betta then being mean to a gasoo..

I wonder what Jenny isthinking about.. hehe.. maybe shes daydreaming agen.. I thought as I stared at jenny she was lookingoutside and her head looked as if she was bobbing to music

dang.. sorry to bother you.. I said and turned back to the teacher

Jenny seemed to go back to her dazing off when the teacher suddenly called on her..

umm.. Jenny, what is the main thing you need to prepare for during SAT 2s? Mrs. Park asked

huh? O.. umm.. she looked at me for help with puppy eyes..

ahh.. she looks so helpless.. I thought and pointed to the book

you need to uh she looked around the page searching for the answer but couldnt find it..

Dongwan, why dont you help her out..? Mrs. Park said with a smile.. haha all teachers love me..

you need to prepare for the Essay part.. I said loud and clear

Ahhh.. someones been paying attention.. MRs. Park said as she gave Jenny a look and went on withher teaching

I turned around to see who had called me and I saw Fanny running towards me

I just want to say good luck for the sm audition I know that you will do well.. even if you dont make it, Iknow that your voice is better than anyone elses! she said.. giving me a hug..

After that, the class was extremely boring we had to talking about evolution and junk.. blah blah blah..

RRRRRRRINNNNNNNGGGGG.. ahhhhh thank god the bell rang.. I thought I was going to die if I stayedin this class anymore..

I was about to get up when someone agen tapped me from behind..

At lunch everyone was talking about the SM audtion each person or group you passed, someone wastalking about it..

ahhh.. dang.. I probably dont even have a change at this thing.. I thought..

gosh why are you dazing off like that? she asked with her eyebrow rasied..

o gosh..i dont think I will make it into SM at all.. I dont think I even have a chance!! I said whining..

Omg.. schools over.. omg.. I hope I do well for the audition!!! I thought to myself as I grabbed mybackpack out of my locker and walked to the front of the school

Hey Fanny! I yelled back as I ran to get in his car I opened the door and hopped in.

thank you for giving me a lift.. I said smiling . We arrived at my house shortly and I ran in to change.

I walked into my room and quickly changed into my new clothes that my mom bought for me. I grabbedmy stuff that I needed for the audition and was at the front door when..

Gosh .. why is the telephone ringing when Im in a hurry! I murmered as I went to answer the phone.

um.. there has been an accident with your mother. Shes at the Crossroads hospital.

omg.. is she okey? What happened? I asked all at once in a hurry.. My eyes were full of tears andcouldnt think..

Im sorry. I cant tell that to you right now. Please come to the hospital right now.. he said and hung up..

I dropped to the ground and started to cry..

Jenny! Fanny came in running to me.. what happened? Why are you crying?

Fanny.. (sniff) my mom (sniff) my mom (sniff.. I started..

what? What happened to your mom? he asked me..

she got in an accident! (crying) I blurted out..

omg.. where is she? he asked

at the Crosswords Hospital I said .. by this time, I couldnt think and it was getting hard to breath..

dont worry shes going to be fine.. he said holding me in his arms..

here, lets go.. Ill take you.. he helped me get up and he drove me to the hospital.

Chapter Seven

Wow.. Theres A lot of people here today! Dongwan said watching everyone piling in to the studio..

I know.. dang but I dont see Jenny anywhere.. Minwoo added in trying to look for Jenny..

What Jenny kim from our school is Auditioning? Dongwan asked surprised..

yeah.. Minwoo said after a moment of silence..

dAng.. that took yoo along time to answer Eric said smiling..

heh.. anywayz.. Minwoo.. just because you like Jenny.. yoo better not go easy on her.. Dongwan saidgiving him a smirk..

Minwoo turned a shade of pink.. DONGWAn! What are you talking about? Why would I like her? heexclaimed!

dang.. I was just kidding.. Dongwan said laughing..Haha.. Minwoos blushing.. Hyesung laughed..

aish Im going.. Hyesung lets go.. they want the judges in right now.. Minwoo said walking away..

aigoo its already been an hour and all these people have crappy voices.. well except for that one girlSusan she had a pretty good voice.. I thought in my head..

Its been an hour and there were still more to go

After 2 minutes she still didnt show up..

okey.. I said with a frown.. I wonder where she is.. she seemed really excited for the audition.. Ithought.. continuing.. Number 326 Sarah Shin I said and watched how she performed..

Where is Jenny? I thought to myself..

I slipped outside and turned on my cell phone to see if I can get Jennys phone number from someone..

hmm Fanny probably has it.. I think hes her neighbor or something.. I thought and called up His cellphone..

Hello? Fanny answered..

hey Fanny.. its me.. I said .. he seemed to be at a noisy place because I could hear a lot of peopletalking from the background..

Hey Dongwan.. watsup?

um.. I was wondering if you knew Jenny Kims phone number.. I asked..

uh.. (pause) shes here with me Her mom got in an accident.. he said quietly..

What? No wonder she didnt show up for the audition.. I said.. is she okey? what tha.. why do I care? Ithought..

yah.. I think so, well have to wait to see if her mom makes it after the surgery.. he said sadly..

okey.. well I feel bad for her mom but I feel bad for her.. she probably wont have a chance to audition foralong time.. I said..

yah.. o wellz maybe this was fate.. he said. well.. I have to go.. bye he said quickly and hung up..

ahh.. poor Jenny I thought and walked back in..

Chapter Eight

I dont know how long I had been sleeping, but when I woke up, I had my head on Fannys shoulders. I

looked around to find that I wasnt dreaming everything I was really at a hospital.

Mom.. I murmered shoftly.. Tears began to fall down my cheeks. Fanny looked over at me and gave mea warm hug..

Shes going to be okey.. Lets just pray that shes going to be okey.. he said softly..

God.. if you are really out there, please let my mom be okey,.. Shes all that I have. I dont care aboutstupid auditions or anything else.. Please let my mom be okey.. Please let her live.. I prayed to myself..

Right then, The emergency door was opened and the doctors came out.. I rushed up to the doctors to seewhat happened with the surgery..

Doctor.. Is my mom going to be okey? I asked half crying and half pleading

The surgery has gone well but it might take awhile for her to wake up. .. he said and left..O by the way, her room number is 584 on the fifth floor. he said turning around and giving me a smile.

Thank you.. I said softly.. Fanny put his arm around me and gave me a smile

You see, our prayer was answered

Thanks Fanny for everything tonight. Why dont you go home and get some rest, you must be tired.. Itold him..

I want to see your mom first with you. .. he said and he led me to the elevator to my moms room.

We remained silent in the elevator and walked to my moms room.

I opened the door to Room 584 to see someone covered with machines, tubes, and white cloth..

omg.. Mom.. I said softly to myself and ran to her side.. Her body seemed so tired and restless Herface was pale and dry. She looked like she had worked non stop and never ate. She was barely breathingand there were cuts and bruises on her whole body ..

I held her fragile hands and cried softly. I felt a hand on my shoulders and turned to see Fanny smiling atme softly. I wiped my tears and walked out the door with him.

We sat at the benches out in the hall.

Im sorry about what happened to your mom.. Fanny said breaking the silence between us..

Yah.. Im sorry too.. I said softly I felt like my energy was drained out of me..

Dongwan called I turned to hear what he was talking about.. Fanny saw the wondering look on meand continued..

He was wondering why you didnt show up to the audition I told him that your mom got in an accident..he said..

haha.. very funny Fanny well Im gonna go back in.. Give me a call tomorrow on my cell phone.. I saidand got up..

Yeah.. sure Ill come here in the morning and take you home for awhile to get your things and so thatyou can get some sleep or something.. he said ..

thankx bye.. I said softly as I opened the door and walked in the room.

I stared at my mom and flashbacks flooded my head..

::Flashback::

Mommy Why are you crying? I asked

Sweetie Daddy is sick she started saying hugging me..

Well.. why dont we buy him medicine.. I said with my toothless smile..

Sweetie.. Thats not that easy.. she started to say.. your father has a tumor.. It spreads through out hiswhole body and then eventually, hell die He only has a few weeks to live..

What are you talking about? Daddys healthy.. HEs not going to die.. I said worried and shocked at whatmy mom was telling me..

Im sorry.. she said crying again..

My dad died a month after that date.. I still remember how he looked like in his hospital bed. His face waspale and wrinkly.. He was skinny that his bones were clearly visible to me After he died, I never reallytalked about my dad. And I didnt really need to because my mom and I moved to a different city.

::back to Reality::
