away from Bangalore and Mumbai.

4th largest city in Karnataka.

Belgaum acts as a trade centre for food grains, sugarcane, cotton, tobacco, oilseed and milk products.

Sericulture is gaining prominence in the district with nearly 481.90 hectares under Mulberry cultivation.

200 foundries producing more than 70,000 tons of automotive and industrial castings of ferrous base.

Gokak waterfalls, located on the Ghataprabha River ,resembles the Niagara Falls on a smaller scale with a horse shoe shaped crest.

Yellama Temple, situated at a distance of 78 kms from the Belgaum city. The temple is built in the Chalukyan and Rashtrakuta Style and the Carvings reflect the Jain architecture. The temple was constructed by Bomappa Naik of Raybag in the year 1514.

Belgaum Fort, located in the heart of the city, is an ancient architectural pre-muslim monument where mosques and temples co-exist in perfect harmony.

Navilutirtha, a low valley is situated between 2 hills. The Malaprabha dam situated here serves as a good scenic spot.

Kamala Narayana Temple, Degaon (Degamve / Devgram), built in the 12th Century, is famous for its rich antiquity and Kadamba style architecture.

Kasamalgi Parshwanatha is a remote village where, an Idol of Bhagwan Parshwanath dating to the 11th Century was recovered while digging in a Government School premises during 2005.
