part 3 The Bf 58d

Who are we?

Around a core of people visiting the Atlantic Wall for over 20 years, some

informal team has been formed.

We’re all amateurs, in the sense that we have an attraction for the research on

the Wall.

While seriously devoted, none of us are professional, ie we do not draw any

income (it would rather the opposite).

Why these Pdf – files ?

This is the only way we can make our research reactive, and make others to join

us, or help us to add what’s missed and making an update starting from the

new findings in the field and in the archives.

All photographs used in this article are property of Belfra, otherwise their origin is

indicated, documents from the archives, likewise.

We only want to improve. Therefore we appeal to other fans! Join us on the

The 58d is the brother of 58c and a successor VF8 This is the only variant of a Tobrouk where the width of 140 cm of the rear part of Vf 8 is kept. This by moving the angle to the combat area, which becomes oblique, leaving 45 cm (as in 58 c) on the sidewall, which offers a sufficient storage space for ammunition. So it stores the same amount of ammunition (40-50000 MG bullets and 720 grenades for mortar), despite the small space. It is also designed to have a stove. Its height is always 190cm.

It's like the 58c, a building with a smaller volume of concrete. The second drawing mentions the name of the new 58d: the Bf 202.
