So, I decided the other day to take a trip outside, Muse was really wanting to go out and typically, if I do something other than what she thinks I should be doing, I end up regretting it. I took my dogs with me, Muse rode on my shoulder and we walked along the road. One of the dogs ran ahead and would come back when I called. Finally, she came back as I was walking back towards my house and I opened up the door to let her in when I noticed she was carrying something in her mouth. This was normal. I knelt down to take a look while Muse was tugging the dog back to reprimand her in her own way. When Muse started her reprimand, the dog dropped something on to her that looked to be a figure just a little smaller than Muse was and done up in a white robe. Knocked out cold but Muse, though she struggled, reassured me she was still alive. I picked the both of them up and set them on my table nearby. Muse watched after the figure as I got a washcloth to clean up the figure. I rushed back when I heard Muse call out to me telling me the 'she' awoke. I came back to find that Muse was supporting this creature as it sat up wearily. I offered the damp washcloth to it only have be given a look of surprise. “You can see me? Wait. How?” I shrugged after hearing Muse translate. It spoke in a strange language. Hell if I knew. I mentioned Muse and how I was the only one that could see her really. It took the cloth and starting wiping down, and I got to see the figure. Yeah, was definitely female. I let muse to tend to her a bit more and I heard them conversing while I got a dry towel. I often forget that the small ones get wet so easily. When I came back, the new figure had turned her back to me showing me the wings that were sprouting from her back. One looked bent, almost quite painful looking. Muse had rolled her eyes and just shook her head as if she had enough of her. When I asked what was wrong I received a rather rude response, “Even though you can see me, I still don't trust you or your kind. I'll be going soon. I thank you for allowing me to recover for the moment and catch my breath.” Muse held up a hand gabbing it like a mouth as she translated for me I smirked a little but I stood up and reached my hand down to help her out and get her back outside. She looked back with almost instantly regretting what she said and had asked, “I don't... suppose I could stay longer, could I?” Muse was instantly against it even as she told me what she said but I turned back and sat down using a finger to scritch behind Muse's ear. She warmed up right then and there and almost fell back from the attention. Muse was now alright with it and expressed it so. I asked for a name and the response that got back to me was, “Synnya.” It took me a few times before I got the name down but once I did, I had to ask why she was upset with me, or for that matter my kind. She started speaking frantically but Muse quickly got up in front of her with puffed cheeks. I gave her one last scritch and she calmed down and explained to speak slower since she needed to translate. Once Muse started to translate, I began to understand. “It seems you may be a bit ignorant as to just what your kind is doing. Our very livelihood is slowly being snuffed out due to your expansion. Your civilization is crushing our very life forces. How do we live? How do to keep continuing our generations? Passing on knowledge? We required the elements of nature in order to continue on, yet the wild nature diminishes. We asked you to stop. Still you persist because you can't see us. You can't hear us.” I looked to a side and couldn't help but mutter out how even if we could, that wouldn't have changed much. She agreed, sadly, so did Muse. I wasn't too surprised. “So what right is there to put any trust in you. To even show any approval of your kind. The notion is insulting.” Yet I mentioned that she was right there, talking to me. Staying at my place. She wasn't to happy but she gave a nod, “Is it because you can see me?” I laughed and she looked upset but I simply told her that we aren't all that bad really. There are a lot of people that are willing to help and even take care of others. If we had the chance, we'd be willing to help out however we could. We'd only need a chance. She looked downtrodden at those remarks. I

So, I decided the other day to take a trip outside, Muse was really wanting to go out and typically, if I do something other than what she thinks I should be doing, I end up regretting it.

When I came back, the new figure had turned her back to me showing me the wings that were

sprouting from her back. One looked bent, almost quite painful looking. Muse had rolled her eyes and just shook her head as if she had enough of her. When I asked what was wrong I received a rather rude response, “Even though you can see me, I still don't trust you or your kind. I'll be going soon. I thank you for allowing me to recover for the moment and catch my breath.” Muse held up a hand gabbing it like a mouth as she translated for me

I smirked a little but I stood up and reached my hand down to help her out and get her back outside.

You can't hear us.”

I looked to a side and couldn't help but mutter out how even if we could, that wouldn't have changed much. She agreed, sadly, so did Muse. I wasn't too surprised. “So what right is there to put any trust in you. To even show any approval of your kind. The notion is insulting.” Yet I mentioned that she was right there, talking to me. Staying at my place. She wasn't to happy but she gave a nod, “Is it because you can see me?”

I laughed and she looked upset but I simply told her that we aren't all that bad really. There are a lot of people that are willing to help and even take care of others. If we had the chance, we'd be willing to help out however we could. We'd only need a chance. She looked downtrodden at those remarks. I

just told her straight that the issue was, we just couldn't see them. She agreed and looked to be in thought. I couldn't help but ask her if there was anything that could be done to help us see her kind.

“Well, there's only been a few cases of us being seen but it was only by those that knew what we looked like.” I looked at her as she explained to Muse then it hit me. I asked her about having a visual representation. If we had something to see before we started looking. So we knew what we were looking for. She looked to be thinking long and hard about it before giving a nod. That could work.

I scritched behind Muse's ears for a moment before asking her if she could try hard to have one more person see her. After all, since I could see Muse, I was able to see Synnya. If one more person was given the chance to see Muse, then they should be able to see Synnya as well. With a nod I gave her a smile but then I started to think, who would be good a choice. Who was good at art, but not too busy to help with the project. I had an idea and I was about to go get on my computer but I was asked where I was going. Once I told her she'd just snap her fingers.

I was surprised, though I'm starting to to become less so these days, as a blur showed in the seat that was near mine. It took shape of a figure, one that had it's own surprise. I couldn't make out the details but someone was there. It could hear us and move it's head in response. After explaining the details, of the situation between me and Synnya, there was a nod of agreement.

I then looked to Synnya for a point to start. “We come in many types, but the first basic elements make up the bulk of us. If we can start bringing out the leaders of the basic elements then there will be others that will become interested. However, before the leaders come out, they need to see proof that they will be taken care of by seeing that their subjects are being taken care of. I believe if so many of their kind are treated well and taken in, then they will emerge to be taken in as well.”

Piecing that together, me and the figure pondered about it then nodded. All we had to do as adopt out some of the lesser kind to draw out the leaders. As the leaders are drawn out, more elements will become available. We were already on unsteady ground with them, so I asked who should be among the first.

“The first element that would be willing to be accepted is the wind Elemae.” Elemae? That must be what they called themselves. I asked why the wind. “Their personality changes as the wind does. If anyone is going to be forgiving, it will be them. Winning their trust will be the first step. Then you will wish to pursue the stone, water, then fire Elemae.”

I figured that that was the order of their trust. I would learn more about them from those points. I asked about what benefits there would be to having wind Elemae around, “The wind represent change. They accept change will come and go. They will benefit their owner by helping to keep a calm wind flowing through their mind, to help them concentrate. If they wish, the owner can look forward towards change. The Elemae will help get change in to motion for the better. Trying their hardest to keep things positive. That is the charm they provide.”

I had to inquire about the charm. The more I talked to her, the more their kind seem interesting. I wasn't the only one. The figure was looking quite intrigued as well. “We are able to use a little bit of our power to bestow a certain kind of fortune on those around us. If we are taken in, the chances are we will want to use our power to help our owners and make their life better.”

With a nod, I told the figure how to get in touch with me to discuss further details and soon it disappeared. I told Synnya that we were going to do everything we could to help the Elemae. I felt they deserved it and I knew that there was going to be many a person that would enjoy their company. “I would like you to know, that there are going to be two different factions within each element. Those that are modest and those that aren't. They have differing views but they don't mind the other that much. I'm sure some owners will enjoy the presence of something... bigger at times for emotional bonds and ties, and, while it is a great strain on us, we are able to do so. We just need rest afterward.”

I chuckled and gave a nod motioning her and Muse to join me on my shoulder. I brought them to my computer to start talking about details. This was going to be fun. I had always looked forward to helping others.
