DROPBOX AT CCSF
BEGINNING OF CLASS
Before signing in at the Dropbox icon in the notification center.
1. Is the icon gray ?
YES, it’s gray. Skip to Step 2.
NO, it’s white ! The user did not unlink their account.
Open the Preferences window: Selective Sync (remove all folders)
and Unlink the user’s account.
2. Double-click the Dropbox icon (circled) to open the window.
(Note: Dropbox icon is grey)
Do you see flies or folders? NO, go to page 2. Yes, delete.
NOTE: If there are files or folders in the Dropbox window (circled above) it will sync to your account.
ALWAYS check the Dropbox window prior to signing into your account.
Right-click on file or folder > Delete

SIGN IN TO DROPBOX
1. If needed click the Dropbox icon 2. Click here to sign in….
3. You will see one of these windows, do the following:
4. If this window appears other students are using Dropbox, click Rename

5. The Welcome to Dropbox window may appear, click Continue with dropbox Basic (circled below)
6. The DropBox window appears it should be empty
7. You may see the following windows click No Thanks > Got it

SELECTIVE SYNC (Sync folders to the hard drive C:)
1. Click the Dropbox icon (in the notification area)
2. Click Settings
3. Click Preferences
4. Click the Sync tab > click Selective Sync
1. Click in the box to select the folders to sync to the hard drive C: 2. Click Update (circled below)
3. Close the DropBox Preference window

CHECK THE DROPBOX WINDOW
1. If needed double-click to open the Dropbox window. 2. Click the arrow (circled below) to move to the top of the hierarchy (main folder)
SELECTIVE SYNC (Sync your folder(s) back to the CLOUD and remove from hard drive C: )
Click the Dropbox icon (in the notification area)
Click Settings
Click Preferences
Click the Sync tab
Click Selective Sync
a. Click in the Select box twice to uncheck ALL folders this will remove the folders from the hard drive C:

6. The following window appears click OK
UNLINK DROPBOX
1. at the Notification area. The Dropbox icon must be White before unlinking
your account
NOTE: White icon (circled above): Dropbox is Up to date (synced) Blue icon: Dropbox is syncing folders (upload/download)
2. Click the Account tab
3. In the Dropbox Preferences window click Unlink this Dropbox…. > click OK
