In an industrial scenario, sensors & actuators are key elements embedded in the machine & process control. These sensors &

actuators are generally spread over a distance. Discrete wiring to each of these devices has always been cumbersome, time

consuming & error prone. Remote I/Os connected on the field bus are designed as an intelligent alternative. They are placed near

these field elements & are wired locally.

Messung Systems introduces RiX series Remote I/O units based on highly reliable CANopen field bus technology. RiX Remote I/O

units are designed to be mounted near these field elements (e.g. in junction boxes & in push button panels) for individual I/O

connections. Further RiX units are connected to the master CPU using a two shielded twisted pair network cable.
