UPDATE! - Colgate Community Garden Challenge This is the last month we can enter the Colgate Community Garden Challenge!

If you have been collecting items for us, please take them to one of our collection points by Friday September 20th.:

Bega High School Foyer Support Unit Kitchen Red Café Regional Gallery and Library Foyer Bega Farmers Market (Fridays)

The winning prize is a recycled community garden set. In order to win we need to collect and send away our used, empty oral hygiene products such as:

old toothbrushes empty toothpaste tubes empty dental floss cases any outer packaging empty mouthwash containers

We are currently establishing new garden beds in order to grow herbs to sell at the Farmers Market and we would love to win this prize!

Pantastic Pancakes Stall 11 Business Studies students have been applying their business knowledge and skills to a pop-up "Pantastic Pancake Stall" at school.

Everything from the planning, marketing, costings, production and customer service was successfully organised by the students.

This demonstrated, not only their business accumen, but also their teamwork and ability to work under pressure.

What a great job...and we made a profit!!

Free Dental Treatment at Pambula Community

Health Centre A public dental clinic is located in the Pambula Community Health Centre adjacent the Pambula District Hospital.

All children under the age of 18 are eligible for this service.

Families are encouraged to bring their children along for a dental assessment and treatment annually.

Early assessment of your child may help detect any problems with their teeth or oral hygiene. Routine visits also help to familiarize your child to a pleasant dental experience.

Please ring 1800 450 046 with your Medicare card to access this free service.

St Cecilia Youth Music Scholarships 2019 Scholarships Open

Applications are now invited from young people aged 8 - 18 years who wish to apply for audition for the 2019 St Cecilia

Music Scholarships.

Scholarships are offered in four categories: Junior (8-13) Classical, Junior (8-13) Contemporary, Senior (14-18)

Dates & locations The 2020 Summer Master Class program will run from Monday, 6 January 2020 to Friday, 24 January 2020. Subjects delivery days and times vary on campus between Monday to Friday and 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM.

Cost: The cost of the three-week program in 2020 is $440, payable upon an offer of a place in the program. Sponsored places that cover the program costs are available for students from In2Uni sponsored schools, or those that meet equity criteria.

A limited number of equity grants valued at $500 are available for equity students and students from In2Uni sponsored high schools. Please indicate whether you would like to apply for a grant on your application form.

University of Sydney Elite Athletes and Performers Scheme and The Elite Athlete Program

The University of Sydney is pleased to announce that applications for our Elite Athletes and Performers Scheme are now open.

The Elite Athletes and Performers Scheme is aimed at students who have experienced disruption to their studies due to sporting or performance commitments. Successful applicants may be considered for admission to a course with an ATAR of up to five points below the guaranteed ATAR.

How to apply? Students will need to submit two applications: a UAC application an Elite Athletes and Performers application

Interested students should review the assessment criteria and complete and submit their Elite Athletes and Performers Scheme application by 5pm (AEST) 31 October 2019.

The Elite Athlete Program Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness’ Elite Athlete Program provides assistance to student athletes with balancing their sport and study commitments and achieving excellence in both. Please note, the Elite Athlete Program is different to the Elite Athletes and Performers Scheme outlined above and that applying for and/or receiving an offer into the Elite Athlete Program does NOT equate to applying for and/or receiving an offer of admission to study at the University of Sydney.

The Let’s Locate program is an exciting opportunity for selected Year 8, 10 & 11 students to engage in hands-on, practical learning activities in the use of the latest positioning technology. The program will introduce and apply concepts in surveying and civil construction.

Cost: $50.00

Let’s Locate will be delivered by the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT), Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI), and the ACT Office of the Surveyor General and Land Information. Interested students will need to submit and Expression of Interest (available from the school office or Mrs Lucas in Careers).

Twilight Netball Competition starting 24th September in Bega at 6pm.

Get a team together or put your name down and we will find you a team.

Maximum of 3 men (or less) on court at a time in a team and you need to be turning 15 this year and above to play.

It’s a fun, popular, spring competition and only costs $40 rego per player. Active kids vouchers accepted.
