Ashley McFarland, CNYDLFC Livestock Specialist, and Lynn Geoffery, DVM, will discuss vaccinaons and health management in beef cale. The chute-side workshop will offer demonstraon and pracce of proper sub-cutaneous injecons. Parcipants will become eligible for BQAcerficaon. The cost is $10 per farm, which includes BQA materials. Pre-registraon is required by July 29. Register online and pay by credit card at: hps://cnydfc.cce.cornell.edu/event.php?id=909 or by mailing your check with the registraon form below to CCE Herkimer County. The naonal Beef Quality Assurance Program plays an important role in educang producers on best management pracces and assuring consumer trust in high quality and safe beef that is produced in the United States. This BQA meeng is sponsored by the Central New York Beef Producers in conjuncon with the New York Beef Producers Associaon. An addional goal is bringing its members into compliance to build confidence in buyers who are looking for high quality and well-managed calves at the feeder calf pool sales. As beef producon connues to evolve in Central NY, Cornell Cooperave Extension is working to assist regional beef producers to improve profitability and opmize their cale growth. The Central NY Beef producers will be conducng a tele-aucon on December 6th, 2019. Addional calves that meet the quality, weaning, management, and health protocols are sll being sought.
