Our Student Representative Council (SRC), under the leadership of Mr Littlejohn, Mr Blackett and Miss Richards, harnessed the collective efforts of our staff, students and community. The stalls this year reflected popular culture and included: ninja warrior and sports games; cake stalls and sales of lucky dips; books; toys and small bags of lollies with inspirational messages encouraging students to believe in themselves and to care about others and the world around them. If you baked, wrapped, helped your child create, gather or make items to sell or helped make one of the many sideshow alley games or activities and donated money, on behalf of the school community … THANK YOU. You have helped our children take action and more importantly, learn that they can as individuals be agents of positive change in our world. The SRC would also like to thank all students and their families for helping to contribute to such a successful day, as well as all the teachers who helped to coordinate the running of stalls to ensure the day went as smoothly as possible.

What’s Happening in Year 6? Year 6 have been reading the novel Toby Alone, a story about a community of tiny people who live on a tree. Our study has focused on imaginative text with an emphasis on character. The students have identified parallels between life in the tree and our Earth. Drawing inspiration from our local Chilworth Reserve environment, Year 6 have created a tree using mostly recycled materials ensuring a focus on sustainability. We look forward to seeing the tree continue to grow! Year 6 Teachers

Eco Corner Report Lots of harvesting for the Knights Lots of harvesting of spinach, chicory, lettuce, rocket and kale. The knights also harvested their third cauliflower head for the year. Although the weather has been dry and windy, the mulching the knights did in autumn has kept the soil moist and has helped protect the plants. This Friday they will be adding more spring seedlings. Congratulations to all bands who did a superb job of representing our school at the North Shore Primary Schools Concert Band Festival over the weekend. It was a great opportunity to support our music director, Mr Tim Ferrier, who was the featured composer for the event, and a fine finish to the festival line up for this year. The next event on the band calendar is the band and strings tour of the South Coast. The senior bands are already working on their combined repertoire and looking forward to a fun filled, musical road trip. If your child is attending, please make sure that you complete the medical form and tour payment as soon as possible. Band calendar
