Materials: ♥ yarn colors of your choice

♥ crochet hook of the appropriate size for the yarn chosen

♥ one pair of safety eyes

♥ one bead (for the nose)

♥ stuffing (fiberfill, polyfill, etc.)

♥ tapestry needle

Recommended Materials: ♥ Vanna’s Choice yarn

♥ 4.25 mm crochet hook

♥ 10.5 mm safety eyes

♥ 8.0 mm pink bead (for the nose)

Finished Size: Bee stands approximately 8” tall based on “recommended materials”. Sizes

may vary depending on the yarn and size of crochet hook used.

Abbreviations: R = round

st = stitch

ch = chain stitch

sc = single crochet

hdc = half double crochet

dc = double crochet

tc = triple crochet

slst = slip stitch

inc = increase (single crochet twice in the same stitch)

dec = decrease (single crochet two stitches together)

* = repeat instructions between * and *

Important Note: Each piece begins with a “ring”. Use any type of ring you are comfortable with

(i.e. adjustable loop, chain 2 and single crochet in second chain, etc.). Work in

one continuous spiral and mark the last stitch of each round to keep track of

where you are.

Next, we create a strap that stretches across below the bee’s head and attaches to the

other side. The strap will be attached to the other side by a button.

3) ch 2 and skip two stitches (this creates the hole for the button)

4) continue sc starting after the two stitches just skipped until you reach the other end

5) Fasten off and weave in ends

6) Sew on a button inside the hood at the other side in the appropriate location

♥ Suggested Bee Assembly Order 1) Attach the safety eyes through the head (between R13 and R14)

2) Attach the nose using embroidery floss

3) Stuff the head and the body

4) Sew the body to the head

5) Sew the arms onto the body

6) Sew the legs onto the body

7) Sew the wings onto the body

8) Sew the antenna on the hood

9) Put the hood on your bee, now he’s all set to go!
