    To alter sizing, cast on a multiple of 10 sts for every 4 sts required at finish of the ruffle, plus 3 edge sts

    NOTE: Shawl is worked sideways beginning with the ruffle

    DIRECTIONS:

    With US 9 circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge), cast on 523 sts (52 reps of 10 + 3). Work dinner bell ruffle for 16 rows: 211 sts remain (52 reps of 4 + 3). Ruffle measures approx. 3” in length. Work in seed stitch for approx. 9” or as desired until approx. 5 yards of yarn remain. Bind off all sts loosely in pattern. Weave in all ends. Block lightly to measurements.
