BED HEAD UNITS

Bed Head UnitThe bed head unit is

placed on the wall

above the patient bed.

It includes all the

elements that are

required for patient

treatment and from

nursing personnel and

provides lighting

(general and local),

electrical energy

(sockets), data

(telephone, nurse call

etc.), medical gases and

vacuum.

In rooms with architectural difficulties, where wall mounted installation is notpossible, special types of BHU are suggested:

• Suspended (single / double)• Vertical / pendant

The BHU internally is separated in five (5) independent channels for:• Indirect lighting, night lighting and the bodies of lightings, ballast etc.• Lighting for reading, for examination and electric elements (switches,sockets etc.)

• Two independent channels are used for wiring, low and high voltage.• Copper pipes and medical gases outlets.

The individual channels described above are closed with covers from alu-minum profile that can be easily removed.

The units are supplied in a white standard

color RAL9016. Any other color of the RAL

scale can be supplied upon request.

For all units offered tailor made solutions

with the necessary installations.

The units can be equipped with any

desirable type of electrical and medical

gas outlets.

The available B.H.U. models are: ELISA,

KASSANDRA, THEODORO, PANORAMA

and PANDORA.

Bed head units havebeen created forgrouping all thenecessary equipment(lighting, electricaland data sockets,medical gases etc)needed in: NormalHospital Care,Intensive Care Areas,Special Care Areas(reanimation,geriatric, coronary,etc.) and Home Care.

The units are suitable for wall or suspended installation in any length(one unit could serve more than one bed) and they are ready to beinstalled. The bed head units are manufactured and tested in accor-dance with standards EN ISO 7396-1, EN ISO 14971, EN ISO 11197, EN60101-1, EN 60598-1 and EN 12464-1. All units are labeled CE0653 toguarantee a high level of safety for patients and personnel.

Proposed BHU configurations

The bed head unit is manufactured from a special profile of aluminumand coated with electrostatic paint. The characteristics of various typesof the bed head units are presented in Table that follows.

Bridge Bed Head Unit is an alternative solution for operation theaters insteadof ceiling pendants. It is an ideal solution to be used in combination with lam-inar flow installation. Laminar flow ventilation is used in modern operating theatres to reduce thenumber of infective organisms present in the air, which may lead to post-op-erative wound infection. The bridge Bed Head Unit can also provide easy access to the various instru-ments that are needed during an operation, by hanging trolleys that canmove along the four sides of the construction.
