BED BUG EXTERMINATION PREPARATION LIST

Remove all items and clothing from: a. Dressers, closets, nightstands, bookcases, drawers, armoires and entertainment

units.

b. Wash all items, linens and clothing in hot water. After drying at high heat, place clean clothes, linens, etc, into new plastic bags and seal them completely. These bags should be placed in the center of the room, bathroom or kitchen.

c. The kitchen does not require preparation.

d. Do not return items or clothing into drawers or closets for at least one week after all of the services have been completed and you have been advised that this is acceptable.

Remove pillow cases and sheets from mattresses. Remove all items stored under beds.

After the service, box springs and mattresses should be covered and sealed. You may order these covers with the attached form or by visiting our website.

All bed frames, head boards, and cribs must be dismantled as much as possible. These items are primary breeding locations for bed bugs.

Technicians must have easy access to all walls in the unit. Move items (furniture, bags, etc.) at least 24 inches away from every wall.

Remove all picture frames, paintings and mirrors and thoroughly vacuum each item. Pay special attention to corners and edges.

Place all shoes, sneakers and stuffed animals inside dryer at the hottest setting for 30 minutes.

Vacuum all furniture, beds, bed frames and box springs. Clean entire apartment, sweep and mop floors. Be extra careful to vacuum around edges of rooms, moldings and baseboards.

For rooms with carpet: remove the molding and lift up all carpet edges throughout each room.

Please make necessary arrangements to have your home accessible to our technician on the date of service. Someone must let us into your home to perform the service.

Please complete all of the preparation steps before the technician arrives to service your home.

If you have respiratory or serious health issues, please consult with your healthcare professional before treatment.

AFTER EACH TREATMENT:

Do not return items or clothing into drawers or closets for at least one week after all the services have been completed. All dressers, closets, etc., must remain empty in between services and for at least a full week after the final service.

Vacuum all furniture, beds, bed frames and box springs. Pay extra attention to

vacuuming around edges of rooms, moldings and baseboards. This must be done at least once a day for at least two weeks after the final service.

Do not use any detergents, cleaning agents, bleach or ammonia to clean; this will

break down residual pesticides applied by the technician.

Do not mop floors in between services and for at least one week after the final service. If you must mop, use only water and a new mop.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: Can I stay inside of the apartment while the technician is performing the service?

No. You must leave when the technician begins the service. How long to I have to stay out of my apartment after the service?

Adults and children over 1 year old may safely re-enter the unit after 4-6 hours. Children under 12 months and pregnant women should wait 24 hours before re-entering.

Can I have information on what products you use for extermination?

Product information is available on our website: http://www.globalexterminating.com/resources/. Feel free to contact us to receive the information via mail, email or fax.

Why do I have to do so much preparation before the service?

Washing and drying all items ensures that bedbug eggs on clothing and linens are destroyed. Sealing clean items in new bags helps prevent bedbug re-infestation while the services are being performed.

Why do I have to vacuum before, after and every day after the service and what should I do after I vacuum?

Vacuuming is a very important step to remove bedbugs. It helps ensure that all dying and dead bedbugs and bedbug eggs are removed from the home. After vacuuming, take the vacuum outside to dispose of bag. Inspect the vacuum carefully to ensure bedbugs are not brought back into your home.

If I do not prepare for the service, will the technician do the service anyway?

No. Unless the unit has been properly prepared, the technician cannot and will not perform the service.

Will my bedbug problem improve with this service?

Yes, but remember that one treatment will not solve the problem. It is very important that you follow all of the preparation steps and do daily vacuuming.

Full cooperation, preparation and a skilled exterminator will greatly improve your chances of a successful treatment.
