The Oltrepo Pavese is the largest wine producing area of Lombardy in the North of Italy, but is also virtually unknown abroad. This is a pity as the landscape is beautiful, the people are kind, the food is authentic and there are lots of possibilities for walking, hiking, cycling and sight-seeing. The smooth hills are covered with vineyards, castles and medieval villages and this landscape reminds one of Tuscany. Pace of life is slow, food is traditional and wine can be tasted anywhere, in one of the over 100 independent cantines.

The Oltrepò Pavese
Villa I Due Padroni is situated in the hills of
the enchanting Oltrepò Pavese area, 70 km
south of Milan. This is the largest wine pro-
ducing area of Lombardy and is characteri-
sed by a variation of smooth hills, panoramic
views, medieval villages, castles, vineyards
and forests. There are literally hundreds of
small cantina’s where you can try yoursel-
ves he local wines like the Bonarda the
sparkling Pinot Nero. In little family res-
taurants la mamma serves her delicious tra-
ditional dishes, like pasta and risotto. The
Oltrepò Pavese has not yet been discovered
by foreigners. This is Italy as it is supposed
to be, this is Italy “unplugged”!
The apartment
When you rent the apartment the entire
ground floor of the building is available to you
(95 m2), consisting of two bedrooms, a ba-
throom, spacious living room and fully equip-
ped kitchen with dining area. The private out-
side terrace is very spacious (40 m2!) and pro-
vides panoramic views of the vineyards, the
valley and the castles of Cigognola and Montalto
Pavese. In the garden (2500 m2) you’ll find the
swimming pool.
