WE SUPPORT ITBECHTEL GLADSTONE EBA

On 22 and 23 May more than 20 AWU delegates from across theBechtel Curtis Island projects met to discuss where thereplacement agreement was headed.

This was followed by the union bargaining teams meeting withBechtel management on the afternoon of 23 May.

After Friday’s meeting with management, AWU delegatescarried the following resolution -

“That this meeting of AWU construction delegates from the Bechtel Curtis Island Projects(APLNG, QCLNG, GLNG, PJET) resolves to support the proposed

(as amended) and advocate to AWU members for the approvalof the proposed agreement.

Further, this meeting of AWU delegates requests that resources of the union be employed tocommunicate this position to AWU members and workers on the Curtis Island Projects, and thatthe senior officials of the union be available and present in Gladstone to meet with AWUmembers prior to a ballot of the proposed agreement being conducted.”
