SiMobility Connect is a platform that en-ables the integration of mobility services from various providers into a single-source portfolio for the user. The platform pro-vides a flexible partner management and system interfaces for transport operators and mobility service providers as well as integrated processes like real-time passen-ger information, options for multimodal itinerary planning, booking, ticket pur-chase, and payment – across a variety of transport modes.

The types of transportation covered can include public transport, as well as private transport services such as bike or car shar-ing and taxis to support trips end to end. Continuously updated traffic information can be used to optimize route recommen-dations in real-time. On the B2B platform, apps and portals can be implemented that allow the adaptation of the services offered to match existing operator offerings.

Prior to starting the journey, travelers can manage their entire itinerary via one inter-face. The platform then creates an itinerary that includes the required bookings, opti-mized based on individual travel prefer-ences like travel time, cost, distance, and environmental compatibility. Subject changes, real-time updates can be made along the jouney.

Once the journey has been completed, the traveler receives a single invoice for the entire trip, which simplifies payment and documentation.

Simply put, SiMobility Connect ensures an enhanced travel experience across various transport modes and makes it more attrac-tive for providers to launch new, sustain-able transport options – and for travelers to use them.

From her office, she has already organized her trip by using the SiMobility Connect based app on her smartphone. She has entered her desired destination and selected the route that will get her there in time to meet her friends. Her best option is to get a taxi to the commuter train station. After the train, she can take a shared car to get her to the bar. Her payment details were saved from her last journey, and Clara knows that she will receive the best possible price for all three portions of today’s commute, compiled in one convenient electronic invoice. She steps out of office, climbs into her pre-booked taxi, and sets off for a girl’s night out.

Clara is accompanied virtually by SiMobility Connect from her point of origin to her desired destination. The system works seam-lessly with the powerful SiMobility solutions Flow and JustGo, which provide Clara with location-based information and important travel-relevant updates between her modes of transit and hands-free ticketing once she boards the train.

SiMobility Connect goes far beyond current solutions: It provides real-time information on transport options in the traveler’s vicinity, allowing mobility providers to offer cars, bikes, taxis, parking options, electric vehicle charging, and everything else that might be needed for their trip. A simple touch of a phone screen is all that’s required of the traveler to book an intermodal journey, from door to door. SiMobility Connect is the flexible platform that enables operators to extend their business to include intermodal and mobile services. As such, it can serve as a major building-block in the creation of Mobility as a Service (MaaS).

Reference: VBB Germany (Berlin)Berlin has one of the largest fleets of car sharing vehicles in Europe, as well as a huge number of taxis and shared bikes. The project scope included the sourcing, pool-ing, management, and delivery of critical transportation-relevant data for the upgrade of the Web portal of VBB, the regional public transport association for Berlin Brandenburg. The modes of transport to be incorporated into the SiMobility Connect roll-out were car sharing, bike sharing, parking, and taxis. The goal: to create an attractive alternative to car ownership.

This was achieved by pooling both inter- and multimodal information from public transport, bike and car sharing, parking, and taxi platforms across the city. Though this presented some challenges due to the large number of service providers and proprietary interfaces, the project was a major success.

SiMobility Connect allows travelers to easily navigate the sometimes complex field of intermodal transportation.
